  1. Hmm, heat for about 5 mins to an area to get wrinkles and such out. How fast does your contact cement dry? When the vinyl is hot it sure does stretch! I was trying to get it as wrinkle free as possible and look like factory.
  2. Thanks but I def like it on your car too. I don't have many shots of the rear of the car.
  3. You are better than me, I just double check all connections and fill her up - prime and listen for any leaks and smell of gas! Good luck!
  4. It def fits your car well. Just to add to your thread what it would look like in CF
  5. Thanks for the info. I am also looking for strips of felt to replace the old worn ones on the panels. Hope to have these on the car in about two weeks.
  6. Here is an update on my door panel “build†- First remove the old door panel and pop rivets that hold them in: I drilled them out rather than pop them out so you can keep the panel nice and flat. Here is the size rivets I used and what it should look like. The rivet flat face should be towards the door vinyl. After three days of heating and pulling and clamping, it is easy to see the stock door panel will fit with the speaker pod there. To do this right, it would take about a week each door to slowly work the vinyl. See pic: After seeing if the panel will work, I decided to drop the door panels off to get the bottom section recovered. I will post some pics when it is all done.
  7. Pallent- did you get my email and payment? Thanks
  8. Gollum - thanks for the feedback. My understanding for the design I am going with starts from the pistons were given to me by Rags. Ok to make sense out of that statement, after reading threads going back almost 7 years - I am going with the P90 head for several reasons. The chamber design is key even though I am not maximizing its use but to me that use is during boost. The other L series heads I have looked at don't give me the CR I want on and off boost and for my HP goals. Granted this is my first engine build but I am going with my "feel by the pants" knowledge, theory and what I know works for this build. Like you said, it isn't a "bad" combo but my goal isn't to get everything out of the engine. To pick up on the theory end of what you were saying as the air starts to act as a "fluid" and using the quench area to "push" the air out, if you had to guess what do you think the percentage would be for inefficiency or maybe to a guess to what hp is being lost or more likely not gained? Guess I can look at what the volumetric flow diffence would be with the piston 1mm down in the whole vs another 1mm up and a .3mm quench area. Again this would be just theory as different HG would play a differnce there also. Chuckles, thanks.
  9. Small update: I was able to pick up a p90 head from Joe (rags) and dropped it off at the local machine shop. Also picked up a 38mm WG and still tracking down a 240sx TB with sensor. I already have the Arizona Z adaptor for the TB to the intake manni. Waiting for the fuel rail to come in and will mock it all up before I send the intake out for a clean up and powdercoat.
  10. Where in NYC are you, send me a pm. Also check out local club NYZCC.COM
  11. So small updates on this car. Been putting together an audio system for this car for the last 2 months. Having a custom box made to hold one 12 inch L7 Kicker. Also picked up a nice Fosgate amp to drive that sub. Bought a set of FG door panels from Rayven to mounct a set of Focal K2 6.5 speakers in the door. I hope to have this done by next week and snap some pics of it. The idea is to get it to look as close as to factory as possible. Still need to find another 4 channel amp for the 6.5 speakers. Going with an Alpine head unit with Ipod connection. Turbo swap - still picking up little parts as I go. Also working on getting a 13inch front brakes setup for this street car. Pics and details to follow.
  12. Jeff this the car you pm'd me about? The link didn't work. Is this for a DD or donor for a future project?
  13. Like John said it is just another 240z. For it to be worth anything, you need all the period correct parts and original engine. I had #1905 which got sold to a member here...2/70 car, had lots of early Z parts on it unique to the 69 built cars and in non running condition I was offered $6k. You know what I did? Start to make a street car out of it! Enjoy your Z! Build it and drive it hard.
  14. Got my panels and they look great! Already started working on one side already. I will try and snap a few pics of what I am doing but it is pretty much the same as Rags did. He has a finished product that he or I will take pics of. Thanks again for getting these done!
  15. Was reading through your thread but didn't find the info. I am getting ready to order fuel lines for myself and someone else I need to do a swap for. I like your lines - where did purchase them. Also I know there are two types of AN fittings when dealing with braided lines....which did you go with? Also love the black fittings. I need to stay away from this thread!
  16. How are we doing on the list? Ready to buy!
