  1. I won some turbo supra 440 injectors on e-bay the other day, $51.00. should I even mount this IC on with the stock turbo computer? I'm waiting to get the 300zx ecu or I guess MsNs, but the cash is the biggest problem. So I have this volvo IC, and will soon have the supra injectors, what should I put on now untill I get the cash for a better IC, and ecu????
  2. Well I've been looking on e-bay and I guess I might not be able to get $75.00 for the one good intercooler. Seems like they are going for 40-50 bucks on a good day. So come on let me have it.......did I get screwed? I go one of them it fit today, and have to plumb it in now.
  3. went to the good old wrecking yard, found 2 volvo 740 intercoolers they wanted $150 for both talked them down to $75 bucks! One is mint the other has little damage. my question is, the good one I want to put on e-bay to get my money back, the bad one I want to use, if I block off the 2 rails that are busted will I still get good enough flow? These things are huge, core alone is 18x17 overall is bigger. inlet, outlet are 2 1/2 I think its 1 1/2 thick? I will probly have to fab. it in to fit? tried to put picture up but having trouble.
  4. exactly which model of mega squirt should I get, I don't need the latest greatest just the cheapest one that would work good that might be on e-bay or someone on here might have for sale used?

  6. WOW! you guys are pumping me up! I've got to get that intercooler and injectors. I'm going to try and do the 300zx ecu swap, I think I can get all the stuff cheaper. Then talk to GreyZ for some ecu mods.....oh MAN! I want some moe Horse Power!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! after the race I took him for a ride in the 280, and he was like "WOW!" I didn't know it had this much power! I told him of all the stories on Hybridz.org and that this was just scratching the surface of how much power I can get.
  7. man I would love to have that kind of power! can I get that kind of power with my set-up? or should I shop around for a "true" turbo motor? And by my set up I mean n/a block and head. I know the ecu injectors and such will have to be upgraded anyway.

  10. ok I think I will go down to 7 or 8 psi. the compression of my head does make sense. and might clean the injectors.....again
  11. OK my stats are below, would it be my N47 head not flowing as good as the P90 would??? If I retard the dizzy I still get some knock, or tap, then If I retard it to the the point where it does not run as well I still get a little knock. The knock is at full throttle on the highway 4th and 5th gear, and I start to hear it at about 5000 rpm. Of coarse once it starts I get out of it kwick! 1st 2nd 3rd all can go to about 6000rpm and I never hear, the car is not all that loud so its not that I can't hear it, it just doesn't happen unless on the highway, could it be wanting more fuel?????????
  12. I have the car running pretty good now. Pumped it up to 10 psi. added another fuel pump holly?? Have about 60 psi fuel pressure at W.O. anyway my friend has a 90ish mustang all stock, and from a dead stop I wasted him! it felt great. Then roll on in 1st, again I beat him, then on the highway at about 55 mph I up shifted to 4th and walked away from him again. The only thing is stopping!! the 28 year old car don't stop on a dime!!
  13. I looked in there but did'nt see anything about the z31 chopper wheel having to be from a turbo?
  14. I found a Z31 84-89 MAF, chopper wheel from a non turbo car. Can I use these in the 280zxt swap. I will have the z31 turbo ECU, but as for the chopper wheel and mass air flow sensor, do they have to be off a turbo z31?

  16. I started doing them at red lights to, just getting it up a little at a dead stop, then It started fealing better when moving a little, and now I can role them pretty good at 80+ mph. You just kinda get a feel of how much preasure to put on the break, and you have to hit the balance point on the front wheel, but remember if you go to far its all over you can't save it like a wheelie.

  19. I do not have an intercooler, and 7psi felt really good for a week or so, but now I want more. But I'm worried. Should I have a blow off valve before going higher than stock psi?
  20. I put the timing light on #1 plug wire, unplug the throttle posittion sensor, and put a jumper wire in the plug, start the car, shine the light and it shows the timing mark. But when I move the dizzy one way or the other, the timing mark does not move at all. It just stays in the same place. Read my profile below for the motor specs. I've timed many vehicals before but never a turbo. Its driving me crazy, the mark just does not move!?!? It reads off the scale right now.
  21. Very nice! but the one thing that stands out to me, a 1976 car has to pass a smog test? I've never been to Cali. but WOW! my 78 is just like the old days in Maine, they do a safty check and thats it. How far back in years do you have to go to not have to get a smog test?
  22. I thought about cleaning mine but for $19.99 I got a new one from Auto Zone. I think my old one was original from the 82 turbo motor.
