  1. I was thinking that I might loose bottom end power. I would like to get it to the dyno, maby I'll sell it to get a NPR, or better intercooler than my Volvo 740 one, and some new plumbing? I have to smile and chuckle everytime I open my hood, and see those radiator hoses, but it works. Thanks agian guys for all the help, this site is the best!
  2. I got a P90 head. I was going to resell it but should I put it on my car? I now have the n47 with my turbo, if I put it on is it going to be a noticeable power gain, or will the turbo spool up faster? what will the difference be? My n42 head was a total rebuild about a year ago, so its almost like new, the P90 has about 150,000 miles on it, so If I'm not going to feel much power gains, or faster spool, or something, I might just leave the n47 on.

I was thinking the same thing, at WOT the afm is open all the way, and those 370's are dumping the fuel. plus my fuel pressure at WOT is about 55-60poundsBut I would like to get it on a dyno with the wide band, but from the seat of my pants, it's pulling damn hard, I'm going to race my freind with the 5.0 again, just to see how much farther in front of him I can get hehehehe!
  4. it pulls hard to 5000rpm and my air fuel guage is pegged "rich" I know they are not very accurate but it feels great. I don't want to blow it up, so what psi should I turn it down to?? 10?
  5. I hear ya on the intercooler, I got them to resell on e-bay, one was perfect and one had damage, so I sold the good one and put the other one in my car, selling one made the other a freebe. I am looking for a big npr intercooler, but don't want to pay much over $100 I'd like to visit the dyno also, but I can think of alot of other things that money could do. I have two sets of zxt injectors, but I need to put them on e-bay for some well needed $$$$$$$$
  6. glad to see you figured out the problem, I would like to try to talk you over to the other side....., you can get a turbo ecu for about $20.00 bucks on e-bay, I just bought another one as a back up for $10.00!! then i've seen wire harnesses go for under $40.00 and an afm for $25.00 I just put in some ford 370cc injectors, ($43 for 8 of them) a cheap volvo 740 intercooler ($75 for 2 of them) and today I was boosting 15 lbs with no knocking! Just a thought, And hey thanks again for all your help over the phone. If you ever need any help let me know........If you pay shipping I'll let you HAVE this turbo ecu to get you started!!! the guy on e-bay says it works, I have not received it yet so I have not tested it. And I have 2 extra 370cc injectors!?!?!?!?
  7. I had to lean out my AFM 16 teeth! to get it to pull smooth, but it now pulls hard, and there is no ping at 14 psi Is 14 pounds of boost to much for my set up? Plus I just got a P90 head, should I put it on? Will it flow alot better? will it lower my compression? Will my motor last longer with it?
  8. This is the same yard I got my turbo motor from for $150 Found an 89 Toyota Supra Turbo, I'm going to take the injectors, turbo, and intercooler. Is there anything else thats good to take, and resell, or put on my car. Is the turbo bigger than the stock t3, and would it fit anyway? Would the intercooler be better than my volvo 740?

I ment to cut and rethread my wastegate rod but put an "S" bend in it instead untill I got what I wanted, but It seems to only go to about 9-10 psi in 1st-3rd gear, and then in 4th-5th it will go upto 14psi. Are all turbos like this? can I get just 14psi in any gear? This is the first turbo I've ever had, or drivin.
  10. One more thing, with those 440cc Supra injectors I also got the Supra stock fuel rail, will that fit my car?......I ask brcause I have not recieved it yet and can't check for my self.
  11. ok so all I have to do is cut off the plastic top part to hook to my stock fuel rail, when I cut the plastic away does it reveal a metal tube or something for the stock gas line to go down onto? And I know all about adjusting the afm, when I hook these up, I will have to lean the afm so it will idle? right? I also won some Supra 440cc injectors, but I guess I will need MsNs for those to work, leaning the afm wont work on those will it?? Some poeple have told me the car will run like crap untill I get a stand alone.

  14. now thats funny!, If someone else had to work on it they might not know whats going on, but trust me, with all the hours under that hood, I know all to well what it ALL is.
  15. thats what I did I had a gift card to pep boys from x-mas, went down looked through all their hoses, found the ones that looked like they would work and bada bing bada boom.
  16. in my other thread about getting the 740 IC, I was broke down last night and had to walk home, I forgot to tighten one of the clamps, and some how blew a fuseible link??????????
  17. every time I get on the gas, she compains about gas prices, and "why do you have to do that?" we've been maried 10 years, and I still remind her that when we were dating, she had a 90 240sx, and she would go "Weeeeeee" around corners fast, with her best friend riding shot gun, and me fighting for leg room in the back! (I'm 6'3") but I'm a 33 yr old kid, and she is a 37 yr old adult now...... But she does say that she likes it, she even drove it once---I was parked behind her, and she had to move it. ha ha ha ha!
  18. the radiator hoses for plumbing are a quick, cheap, easy, way of doing it. I do completly intend on doing it the right way, but after I get a good IC, and a ecu that know whats going on. But it all works, and I'm going to try to watch, and listen for any problems.
  19. just got done driving it some more. It seems to be at about 9 psi, but in 4th and 5th in the higher rpm's it goes up to about 12 psi it feels pretty good, and still no "ping"

Here are some pics of my intercooler, the damage I had to fix, my broken bolt to the dizzy I had to drill out to fix, my knock sensor I dilled and tapped my block for, and a toggle to activate my clod start valve at full throttle....it works!! I pumped the boost up to 12 psi, and I don't hear any knock (as of yet) the intake of the IC feels hotter than the out let, its working! Does anyone know how much more fuel I'm getting with the cold start valve??? Is it enough? I'm looking for those 370cc injectors, but I had the cold start valve in my N/A intake manifold just sitting there doing nothing, so thats when the wheels in my head started spinning. http://www.putfile.com/big-phil CLICK ON THE LINK FOR PICS!!!!!!!!!!!

  23. WOW check this out, I plumbed in the intercooler, I thought what the hell its better than no intercooler. I went for a drive, started to boost, and then "pop" "chug-chug" the car dies, with no power at the key, no fuel pump, no nothing when you turn the key. headlight still work, so I think its got to be a main fuse, or fuseible link to the ecu? well i CAN'T FIND IT IN THE DARK ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. so I walk back to my house, about 10 min, talking to myself the whole time thinking what could it be? Get my truck, drive back to my baby, and yes fuseible link. what made it pop? I forgot to clamp one of the hose fittings, and the boost blew right out.....duh....what a night.
  24. a n/a turbo is a non turbo motor with all the turbo stuff put on, all of it except in my case the head, and the block. read just below my post for all the details.
