  1. That's a common mod but it also affects bumpsteer so you'll need to determine how much affect it has. The inner LCA relocation is done to correct bumpsteer so focus on that. Use camber plates to gain camber. That would depend on how the camber plates are installed. Your adjustment rage is perfect if you can get from 0 to -3.5. I would tailor the installation to achieve that.
  2. The 214s are only available in a 15 or 16" diameter. A 15" x 7" 214 weighs under 10lbs. and a 16" x 12" 214 weighs around 12lbs. The 311s can be made in 17" and come with a 6061T651 forged center. Jongbloed's own testing shows an 18% decrease in brake temps using these wheels on the track. The centers, rims, etc. are all made here in the US on Jongbloed's own tooling. Nothing comes over from China. As for pricing, I'll be selling them for 20% off list. To give you an example: A 15" x 7" 214 with the proper offset for a 240Z lists for $714 and I'll sell them for $571.20 each.
  3. Look at the layup. You should see alternating layers of weave and yes, sometimes you can see light through CF parts that don't have a core.
  4. I know it may not be appropriate to toot my own horn, but I'm going to be a distributor for Jongbloed Racing Wheels: http://www.jongbloedracing.com/. Here is a couple pictures of the 214s on a 240Z: And here are a couple of the 311s: Price wise they should be comparable to CCWs but will be more expensive then Kodiaks or Keizers. EDIT: It would help if I got the dang web site correct...
  5. Not strange at all. They probably sell doznes of RX7 body parts for each Datsun part sold. The 240Z market is very small compared to just about anything else except for Rambler and Hudson wide body kits.
  6. Hey Bart, If that's what you are looking for, the cowl hood that you were fondling in my office is for sale. $479... BTW... I owe you an official betaMotorsports T-Shirt. What size?
  7. Funny, last week I talked with the folks at ST and they have at least a dozen 52095 kits in stock.
  8. All the steering shaft U-joints I've seen are staked. No driveline shop that I've shown them to will touch them. Right now, I just source another shaft to replace worn ones.
  9. Best price I can get is $279 my cost if I buy 5 sets. The prices you guys are getting from Summit is below what I can purchase them for. Of course, ST offered to sell me the sets at $249 if I do a $10,000 jobber buy in. The part number you want is: 52095 and comes with everything you need for installation.
  10. Sorry, all I know is what's in the video.

  13. Its true: http://www.snopes.com/politics/military/wakeup.asp And these are the same neighbors that complained about the noise from Arizona Motorsports Park and got it shut down.
  14. I'm looking forward to next year. We'll have Ulrich, Basso, and Vinakurov (sp?) as the top 3 and none of us have a clue which of these three will win.
  15. Poor Rassmusen. He crashes almost at the start of the stage and damages his bike. 4 mechanical stops and one more crash later he finishes 71st and falls from 3rd to 7th in the overall standings.

  17. LT1 rev limit is 5,800 but the early ones ('92 and '93) were rumored to have a problem with the rods. Constant useage at high rpms (road race, LSR) saw a number of failures. In late '93 Chevy supposedly strengthened the rods for constant high rpm running.
  18. One of the issues with aluminum race seats is what Preith mentioned, heat. Aluminum has a very high heat transfer rate so if the exhaust on your car is heating up the floorboards there's a good chance that heat will get into the seat. If the seat's aluminum, the heat will propogate all through it.
  19. Funny! I watch it every year! Discovery had a show called "The Science of Lance" and they compared Lance to a 20 year old Cat 4 (starting level) bicycle racer: Heart Pumping Capacity 20yo - 5 gallons per minute Lance - 9 gallons per minute Oxygen Uptake (V02 MAx - how much O gets into the blood with each breath) 20yo - 43 milliliters Lance - 80 milliliters Power Output 20yo - 250 watts per 1/2 hour Lance - 590 watts per 1/2 hour Lactic Acid Production (Efficiency) 20yo - baselined at 100% Lance - 60% Lactic Acid Uptake (Recovery) 20yo - baselined at 100% Lance - 133% EDIT: These numbers are from memory and whenever I try to think my watt output is really low and I get a big Lactic Acid buildup in my brain...
  20. A part of the learing process, you just learned something! Most boards like this have rules that are posted and its important to read them before making your first post. Think of your entering a board for the first time as walking up to a group of people engaged in conversation. If you're the kind of person that starts talking immediately without listening to what everyone is talking about and how the conversation is going around the group, you won't be heard. Also, every board has a personality. Some are tolerant and some can be downright nasty. HybridZ is somewhere in the middle.
  21. Weld it using stainless or nickel filler and it will be fine.
  22. I love it when people drop in here and give us orders...
  23. I'm opening this thread up for member comments. I've received a couple private messages and the mods and admins kinda want to see what you folks think of the new rule.
