  1. THATS SEXY RON ill try to post pics of what i have so far...
  2. im not buildng a full out race car. mainly street, some strip, maybe 1 or 2 autox. ill probably run 17" rims with street slicks. and 13" rotors in the front.
  3. my chassis looks just like 74 5.0L chassis.. im planning on single turbo rb26... that would be nice not to have to change the oilpan and sump but whatever at this point. i just dont have the tubes for the upper strut done yet.. ehhhh im not real familiar with non strut designs but i do have a chassis building book. time to break it out.
  4. i think so too. point b (engine mount bracket holes) have a different spacing from each other (492.4 vs 240z 452.4) and the mounts are not as tall. suspension should be the same...
  5. street/strip i have the main frame rails and stock crossmember done tacked in the car ready to go.. now im thinking c4 front end.... is the stock frame rail width ok for that? or do i send this basterd to the crusher. haha
  6. i was building it back to the stock specs.. now i wonder if its to late. i dont know much about suspension crap. i was thinkin of using a corvette front suspension at one point but never really got around to it. im using the stock z xmember and steering rack atm... what do you guys reccommend.
  7. im building a tube chassis in the front and i am at the point i need to mount the upper suspension. ive built the car back to stock specs. i was thinkin cut off the strut tubes and weld in a bracket for eye mount tcoilovers (typical QA1 or something). they have a conversion kit for the top to convert it to stut mount... then use like AZ camber kits? do u think that could work?
  8. holy crap, im using the 240 dimms on my 280 tube chassis. got to the point to mount my upper suspension mounts and im taking some measurements and notice the xmember point B is differnt... do some looking around and find the 2x2 has the same distance between point b (motor mount holes) as my 280 does.... im hopeing the only difference in the xmember is the motor mount? god i hope so. does anyone have 280z chassis dims... oooooooooooooooooooooh i think i may need a drink..
  9. i wanna see the cage but it doesnt work.... also if u self etch prime it, do u have to put epoxy primer over it? i guess so... at that point i guess i need to know if im doing expoxy paint or enamel right... the primer works with the paint
  10. from the twin turbos....any new word... ive been out of the loop for a while.
  11. hey u got a harbor freight drier on your compressor too.... im dissapointed in mine...
  12. hard to read...where can i find that book
  13. at one point ross was thinking about making a kit or something for the r230... is that still on the burner??
  14. anyone have angles and lengths for making your own frame.. basicly just from the firewall back, including the subframe connectors, then the angle and length that goes up to the rear suspension and then the lengh back to the back of the car... so something like 5 feet straigh to a 45 degree, 2 feet to another 45 then straight back to the rear... i really need to get mine up in the air... mainly from a side profile view
  15. REALLY... MAN... i wouldnt think even slicks would hold that... then again im used to 400hp in a fwd...
  16. u think a 240sx rear suspension would be better? i dont really wanna go to a solid axle...
  17. just makin sure thats what i thought
