  1. I'm glad you like the sketch 19752802+2. I hope the finish product looks as good. I am working on a front 3/4 view of this to post up too (not to mention give me a good idea of what I want to do)
  2. I did see where the guy put the new stangs tail lights in. It looks good but I like the look of the old tails more. I'm planning on using these tail lights for it. Simple and clean.
  3. I was thinking maybe the YZ widebody kit would go well with this design and keep me from needing to build my own. I would like to make my own stuff for the body but we'll see if I have the patients to do that. I'll see if I can get my sis to do another angle or 2 of it for you guys. Here is a sketch I did a while ago. Pretty similar but there are a few differences in this one (like no door/rear fender scoop). Let me know what you think of this one too. Which you like better. Thanks a ton for all the responses.
  4. That's what I was thinking. Everything made to the smaller scale of the Z car. Also some minor changes to the front facia to get it to line up with the lines of the hood. And what color do you guys think this would look best in?
  5. Thanks for all the replies guys. I do agree that for the size of these cars, it is a bit busy. But, I do think that our Zs look similar enough to a fastback that IF done correctly, it would look really good. I will keep making subtle changes in the design until I can get to the body work (have to get it running right first) but it will stay pretty close to this. The exaust will be rear exit not side, so that will be a side skirt of some sort. The rear spoiler will be the sparrow tail smoothed into the body when it's ready for purchase. I will make sure I take lots of pics as I get going on this so you can all put in your .02. Thanks again for all the input. Please keep the comments comming.
  6. This is a pretty good idea of what my "vision" is for my car. This was done by my sister and was her first time doing anything with cars so don't tear apart the quality of the photoshopping. I would however like some input on what you all think about the idea. The engine inside will be a Ford 351W. Thanks guys.
  7. Ok, so this is what I have come up with so far. Its only a temporary set up until I find the parts I like and get them set up. First one is a pic of the cable linkage that I didn't like. I just couldn't get it to move smoothly enough for me. These next few are how it is now. Very smooth opperation like I want, just not flashy enough
  8. That's pretty cool. Thanks for going out in the weather for it. Actually very close to what I did with mine. I like the supports on there. Mine is just a bracket I bent to hold the bar. I am on my way out there right now to get some pics of it.
  9. Wow, that's a bit of snow We don't quite have that problem here in Vegas. My biggest prob here is that my 260 is my DD. I'm sure you know, it gets rather warm during the summer here. No AC is not much fun in July Whenever you get the chance to take the pics is cool. Thanks bro. Any idea where to get parts like that?
  10. That's totally what I'm looking for. Would love to see pics of it set up when you get the chance.
  11. Ok, I took a linkage off a spare 280. It works really well and yes, I will put up pics in the morning to show. I don't like the look of it though. getoffmyinternet, where could I get some of these brackets you posted up? And any place I can get some nice adjustable bars (not sure the actual name for them) to attach to them? Thanks a ton guys.
  12. I completely agree Cheesecakepiebar. As long as you've done what you can as far as searching (and who can blame anyone for being slightly annoyed by the same ? over & over), the folks on here are the kindest, most generous people. This is the fist time I've asked for help of this kind and it took less then a day for someone to step up with an offer to help. Not just a shop name, but a willingness to put in the work. MREDDLE, thank you for the reply and the kindness. PM returned.
  13. I tried this in the non-tech section with no luck, so I thought I would give it a shot in here. I need a local expert on our Zs. Somewhere I can take my car to get some work done on it. If anyone knows of a great place to go, I would really appreciate it. Or anyone that lives in Las Vegas that wouldn't mind helping out a Z car newb would be my hero. Thanks in advance for any info.
  14. Pretty simple, anyone know of a shop in Las Vegas that is good with our precious Zs. Or a local guy that doesn't mind helping out a newb. I have some issues that I need help with as described here http://forums.hybridz.org/index.php?/topic/90223-the-guttless-wonder/ Any help with where to take it would be very appreciated. Or anyone that really knows their stuff and is willing to help out would be my hero. Thanks a ton for any info.
  15. Thanks for the replys fellas. I did change the vacuum lines & that helped a little. I'll take some pics in the morning to see if they are where they should be. So the chronology of this is: I bought and installed the AZC intake about a year ago. During the install some small tubes ( I'm assuming they are for emissions) were cut off the exaust manifold. Got the new intake finished. It ran really strong but had some slight backfiring because of the missing exaust parts (again, just assuming). I got some new brakes that made it necessary to get bigger rims & tires (225s on 16in rims) so they would fit. Still ran well with no noticeable loss from the larger rubber. I decided I needed to fix the exaust so I bought the 6 into 2 headers and twice pipes exaust from msa. As soon as I got the exaust installed, I couldn't get it to stay running. It would start but had to be given more & more gas to stay running. After about a week or 2 it just stopped turning on @ all. It sat for about 6 months before I got it to a shop about 2 weeks ago. It took them a week to find anything to go on.$475 later, they said the problem was spark plugs that weren't for the car and bad gas. As far as I know, they drained the tank, replaced the spark plugs and did a little adjusting to the carb. I'm guessing that meant leaning it out a /it because they said the carb is way too much for the engine. They said there is tuning that needs to be done to get it to run like it should. I went to pull out onto the street and just about cried for how weak it was. Moved some of the vacuum lines as suggested and did the timing (not very accurately I'm afraid). This helped a little but not much. So that's basically it. I hope this sheds some more light on what may be going on with. If anyone lives in Vegas and wouldn't mind helping in person, I would be extremely greatful.
  16. I just saw these on Jegs.com and thought they looke pretty sweet. Has anyone ever thought of using these? Would they even work? I know there are other options out there but I love the look of these. http://www.jegs.com/i/Edelbrock/350/34120/10002/-1?parentProductId=1044189#moreDetails http://www.jegs.com/i/Edelbrock/350/34121/10002/-1?parentProductId=1044189
  17. Ok, I changed the vacuum lines around yesterday and it helped some. So the question now is how do I adjust the timing? And do I do it with the car cold or after its warmed up?
  18. First video http://www.flickr.com/photos/34541507@N02/4467971677/ Second video http://www.flickr.com/photos/34541507@N02/4468012891/ By the way, in the second video, that's not going easy. I was trying to go quickly but as you can see from the tach, that wasn't what happened . Hope this helps some more. Thanks again for the help.
  19. Thanks Jasper. I'm rather new to doing all this (painfully obvious, I'm sure) so could you possibly show with the pic where I should move the vacuum lines to and which ones to block off? And also where and how to adjust the timing? As for the amatuer working on my car... I wouldn't be surprised. But it could also be a way for me to pay them more since they said they could do the tuning to get it running like it should. Thank you very much for the help. at-jefft, that is a vacuum line. The second fuel line has been blocked off. Still working on getting that video to load.
  20. So I gave up on getting the car running myself and sent it off to a shop here in Vegas. They got it running but now it is going by the name Gutless Wonder. It sounds kinda strange (at least compared to stock) and doesnt have anywhere near the power it should. I have the AZC 4 barrell intake and the 6-into-2 headers with twice pipes exaust. I am including some pics and some video to give all you helpfull folks a better idea of what may be wrong. If you know what I need to do to get the power back, i.e. change around vacuum lines or whatever, please let me know. My baby vacuum lines into carb & intake
  21. I really want something a lot cooler. I want it to look bada$$. I agree that it seemed strange that they would both break. After looking closer, the cable actually came out of the pin that holds it to the pedal. It looks like they just use JB Weld or something to "glue" it in, and that stuff let go. I'm going over to get the part replaced while I try to come up with something awesome to do instead. I love billet , so if you guys know where to get some cool parts I could use like the ones above, let me know. And if you have any pics of some linkages you think are cool, please share. Thanks everyone.
  22. Yeah, but I'm looking for something without a cable. Something more like a fancy version of the stock set up.
  23. Hey there guys & gals, hope you're all doing awesome. I am looking for some creative ideas for an accelerator linkage for my 260. I have the 4 barrel intake from AZC and really like it, but I'm not a fan of the cable linkage (I've had 2 break in the last 3 days). Any ideas are welcome and pictures of any are very appreciated (like most on here I'm very visual and like eye candy ). It can be all cleaned up & pretty or not, I don't care as long as it works. So.... let's see em. Thanks in advance
  24. I feel like a kid at the top of a crazy A$$ roller coaster. I love the look of this thing and am praying it will be available soon.
  25. I used silicone gasket maker for it. Let it set up for 2 days before I tried it. It ran but it wasnt right. Then after a few days of starting it just stopped.
