  1. Does anyone know if the turbo from a 1992 NISSAN SKYLINE BNR32 GTR will give performance increases to a RB20DET???
  2. How tightly do those 2 5/8 gauges fit into the dash..... any cutting needed or do they slip in?
  3. Nothing wrong with spending, I guess Im "frugal" Its a matter of what you are trying to accomplish with the final product. If your chasing high ponies go for it. Im going for as much as the stock internals will hold securely, at that point the 240z will still be faster than a scared bat! As far as cheaper mounts, contact brad at Omni glass...there a link to him earlier in this thread. His mounts are well designed, beautifuly welded and functional ...I believe they are about $100 for the pair. Very good deal...my frugal side comming out again!!!
  4. Im not sure about $18K...Im doing a RB20DET into a 71 Z and so far my expenses are about 4.5K including the engine, intercooler, emanage, down pipe and "headers", engine mounts, and new gaskets and injectors...I still need to a 3" exhaust. Now saying that Im only including the price of engine install...no suspension or cost of car.... Oh ya I still need a fuel pump, boost gauge and and piping and a few odds and ends but with wise shopping that will be no probs. And yes the turbo will be stock....for now! My old engine was a 280 turbo block bored and stroked to 3.1L with all the bells and whistles..mikunis, nissan motorsports parts etc and believe me its alot more expensive!!!!!!! And it runs like an SCCA racer....burps and farts at low speed and loud and fast as the RPMs grow! Best time I got with carbs on the quarter was 14.5sec at 98.9mph I cant wait to finish this install and drive the old gal.
  5. Thanx Dnaugh14 Quickly checked out the links and already they answered a few of the questions lurking in my grey matter. My plan is to keep the internals stock, place a VG30 Turbo on it, injectors, intercooler, exhaust and install some sort of electronic control. Not yet sure what to expect but it should rock my 240Z. My biggest anxiety comes with wiring in the new harness into the old car. Should be interesting, I want to have it running for spring! Later!
  6. Hey all Im currently fitting a RB20DET into my 71Z. I took out the 3.1 Liter for a "modern" power plant. Anyway I figured I introduce myself and start deveoping a few contacts when things get sticky... Im a bit old school and this turbo stuff is new to me. One thing, I have a contact deep within Nissan that can help me find any part number necessary.....and help order parts for that matter.... I just received these: Z31 Oil pan pickup part# 11110-20P03 Z31 Oil Pan Part# 11110-20P00 later Jerry
