Okay, having trouble hunting up my engine's specs icon_sad.gif

 

1972 240Z (red)

 

383 SBC - Eagle crank, Eagle rods, Edelbrock aluminum heads (straight plug), forged pistons - Ross or Probe with about 9.5:1 compression, Victor RPM intake, Holly Avenger 770 carb, Edelbrock aluminum water pump, roller rockers, Acell billet distributor, Acell 300+ ignition, Flowtech block huggers 15/8ths to 2.5inch pipes to a single 3inch through a Sebring stainless muffler. I'll be adding 2 Dynomax bullets and 13/4 Rewarder headers "soon". Flat tappet hydraulic cam - specs are posted here somewhere. Need to find those specs darn it. Dynoed 300RWHP but I'm pretty sure the secondaries weren't opening. icon_sad.gif

 

T56 trans, stock style replacement clutch. 3.7 R200LSD diff. Denny's Driveshaft cro-moly driveshaft.

 

Holly "blue" pump and regulator. Braided -8 to the front.

 

4coil-over struts (SCCA's stuff) w/Tokico carts. Stock length struts for now.

 

17X8 Konig 5.0 wheels (5lug) 225/45 Nittos up front 245/45 Nitto 555 drag radials in back

 

12X1.25 brakes up front w/Outlaw 4piston calipers. 11inch solid rotors in back with Outlaw 2piston calipers. (SCCA's stuff again) We're still working on an E-brake solution.

 

8pt mild steel cage, Triangle 10gallon aluminum fuel cell. Battery in back in an aluminum box.

 

Phantom gauges in all stock locations.

 

Howe radiator, Cobra fan.

 

Spolier up front, 'glass cowl hood (SubtleZ), MSA 'glass bumpers. Dynamat everywhere.

 

I think that's it icon_biggrin.gif Not much "stock" left anymore. Have no idea what it'll run. Yet to be done is CVs in back and EFI of some sort. Have a spare intake to modify but may use a different one and have NO idea what ECU to use. Trying to quiet it down right now and get some bugs straightened out...

'85 4.3 V6. 7.5:1 Forged. Cam: CC 232 @ .050 .483, 114degree. Edelbrock performer. Ported stock heads, Manley proflow valves, CC magnum roller rockers, Holley 600 dbl pmpr, Mallory distrib, 140 fuelpump and regulator, MSD 6AL 7000 rpm rev limiter, Fluidamper, ATI 600B Procharger up to 18 psi, 14 right now. Custom made headers, dual 2 1/2 into 3". Tremec aftermarket 6 speed, centerforce dual friction clutch, nodular iron lightweight flywheel. 3.54 200 rear. 16" Centerlines Falken Ziex 205 50/ 225 50.

Getting close to starting round II: 383 sbc Scat lightweight 6", forged rods, AFR 195s, Victor Jr, CC# 12-7771-8 solid 242/248 @ .050, 570/576,110.(this will be the first "off the shelf" cam I've used in 10+ years!) Forged SRP 10.5-11.0:1. Stay tuned!

Did I ever mention that I'm still an Inliner? Stock original 78 280z bought from the original owner. Odometer now shows 180k & still gets 23mpg. A/C works great, 4spd (yea-couldnt believe it was a 78 & still had a 4spd), 3.545 rear w/stock wimpy wheels/tires.

 

Wish list...377 SBC/T-56 & dido on ScottieGNZ's Corvette rear swap...and cant forget my A/C-gotta have my A/C if/when I get to do the swap; oh yea-dont forget the brakes all points in between.

 

Did I mention it was still a boneb stock Inliner?

This is the second post in the Chevy section I've done - I'm an inliner and will probably stay one - unless I can get an OHC turbo V8 out of the concept stage.

 

Car: 1978 280Z, bumperless, A/C-less, air dam, 2780lb with me and 3/4 tank.

Engine: L28T, 175k miles, with 270/280 turbo cam.

Turbo: T3/TO4 S-trim, not intercooled (yet), full 2-1/2" exhaust with stainless DP.

Management: Stock fuel system with stock 300ZX ECU and MAS. I got 27 mpg over 250 miles @ 95mph average icon_biggrin.gif.

Cooling: 280ZX oil cooler, 4 row radiator, Permacool electric fan.

Suspension: Eibach progessives, Tokiko non-adjustable struts, solid T/C kit, urethane all around. On Dunlop 225/50/15 Z-rated tires, I pull 1.05G on the road course.

Brakes: 280ZX calipers, 300ZX rotors, stock rear drums.

Drive train: Centerforce II clutch, T-5 tranny, 3.90 open diff with a modified stock mount and urethane bushings.

 

I finally got into the 14s (14.9 @ 94mph) at 5800' elevation, Bandimere. L28ET is a force to be reckoned with!

hmm.. My car, which is scattered throughout my house, consists of the following:

I have an 81 280ZX (One of the few ZX conversions i've heard of...) with a freshly removed l28 trying to wedge in an:

 

early (lh dipstick) 350 block

flat tops .030 over

dart iron eagle heads

edelbrock performer RPM intake

edelbrock 600 cfm carb 4106

edelbrock cam (don't have specs with me)

HEI Ignition with accell coil and module

TH-350 tranny with B&M Shift kit

Hurst Pro-Matic ratchet shifter

 

all of this put to the ground through crappy 235 60 14 yokohama's

- 327 block and forged steel crank and rods w/ SPS rod bolts

- TRW forged flat top pistons and file fit Speed Pro rings

- 1964 "461" casting "double hump" or "Fuelie" heads. Bowl ported, intake matched, 3 angle valve job. Isky heavy duty valve springs, retainers. 2.02/1.60" valves

- Comp Cams hardened pushrods and Pro Magnum 7/16" 1.5 ratio steel roller rockers, 7/16" screw in studs and guide plates.

- This combination gives about 9.7:1 compression ratio.

- Comp Cams Xtreme Energy 274/280 deg. adv. duration (236/240 deg @ 0.050") 0.501/0.510"lift, 110 deg LSA, Solid Lifter Cam

- Holley "Contender" (pn 300-36) hi-rise dual plane intake manifold, port matched. Or Edelbrock Victor Jr.

- Holley 750cfm vacuum secondary carb - blueprinted, accessoried.

- Recurved HEI distributor with Crossfire Cap, HEI BruteThunder Coil, MSD Soft Touch Rev Limiter, MSD 8.5mm Super Conductor Plug Wires, Autolite 303 plugs.

 

Exhaust:

- Hooker Block Hugger Headers with Stainless Steel/Ceramic coating (along with most of the entire system by Baxter

Custom Engineering)

- 2.5" duals with Dr. Gas X-pipe

- 2 Dynomax Hemi Super Turbo mufflers in stock location (after spare tire well surgery)
