Turbo6.0
I'm sure somebody has done this but I tried to search and didn't find anything. Has anybody ever used an oil pan from an LS2 or LS3 C6 Corvette? The C6 pan is over an inch shorter at the front of the sump and looks a lot better. Also it has some decent baffling built right in. RebekahsZ
I haven't tried one, but it looks promising. If you wind up with a spare, let me know and I might buy it from you.
Zzeal
I'm using a C-6 pan on my '73 / LS2 / JCI mounts Like you say, decent baffling and good ground clearance too.
Turbo6.0
Thanks for the pictures! I can see that the bell housing actually hangs a little lower than the back of the pan. Ever consider trimming the bell housing for maximum ground clearance? Probably not necessary either way. Got any other pictures?
thezguy
I am also running the same oil pan With JCI mounts on a 280. Take note that you cannot remove and install this oil pan unless you lift the motor a bit. Also I made a "plow" on mine protect the pan and anything else. I previously hit some dried concrete in the road that took my pan out... That's not going to happen again I assure you.
heavy85
Interesting. Will it accomodate LS1 oil pump? How does the windage tray between the two compare and will the C6 tray fit an older LS block?
Zfan1
I am running the LS2 Corvette oil pan on my 1971 240Z, the windage tray was the same as the one on 2009 Pontiac G8, not sure about the older models.
thezguy
The pan will fit any LS series block and the LS1 oil pump will work. However you will need to match the wind age tray and pick up tube. The LS1 windage tray and pickup tube are different. 240hoke
I am working on a swap with this pan as well. So far it really looks great, I love how clean the pan is.

heavy85
Does anyone have part numbers for the right bits to convert from LS1 pan to this? Im liking the better baffling, better ground clearance, and using factory parts this option provides and am curious the cost involved. mistafosta
Will this pan fit ls6 with ls6 windage tray and pick up tube? No, you need the correct windage and pickup tube.
RebekahsZ
Even with a camaro pan, my bellhousing is the lowest point on my car. Change to a C6 pan and the bell will still be dangling down there, daring a speed bump to make my day. zspeed22
Has anyone tried the performance GM swap pan kit? Big cost difference with them and just curious if they work. Why not just buy a used F-body pan? They are pretty cheap on LS1 Tech all the time
zspeed22
Since I need the pan, windage tray, pick up, dip stick tube, and dip stick this process would be easier. Also they are hard to come across on ls1tech that are in worth while condition at a decent cost.
MrPhotographer06
It seems the marine place is out of stock, but the LS2-3 pan is 276 at GMPD http://www.improvedracing.com/tech/LS-oil-pan-dimensions.php Part Numbers - Oil pan:12624617 276.95 Pickup tube:12624497 32.71 Windage tray:12558189 17.21 Dip stick:12570788 12.64 Dip stick tube:12570787 12.59 Pickup tube o-ring:12557752 3.87 Gasket:12612350 25.63 Total comes out to 381.60 for a complete and brand new oil pan... If thats the route you'd like. I'm a junkyard builder so I'll hold out to save a buck, but if you need it... GMPD usually has everything in stock.
