camerashy
I've never bad mouthed someone on a forum and I don't intend to now, but I feel my recent experience trying to order from Pallnet is a bit 'off' and being that this is a community where group buys, deals etc often fail it's worth mentioning to the general forum for the benefit of everyone. I'm just going to let the emails do the talking and people can make their own judgements. I don't have any ill will against Peter, the guy was still working with a broken wrist for goodness sake, I'm just perplexed by his tone in dealing with what I figured was a relatively simple issue that could have been handled far, far better and miles more professionally. To give context, I'm running a built L28 with a Casey-made intake manifold and wish to run 11mm Supra injectors via a dead-head fuel rail with a Halltech EMS. So, I tried to order an 11mm o-ring fuel rail "barbed fuel rail from Pallnet". This is how it went. I'm after one of your Z fuel rails with mounts, I need it drilled for 11mm O-ring injectors and I'm wondering if it can come in black? I need it shipped to the following address: Removed Can paypal. Please let me know, BestJames PALLNET Allnet <pallnet@hotmail.com> 5 February 2015 at 21:46 To: James Sir I will be more than happy to make you a custom fuel rail for your project but the only color I've always offered is brushed aluminum. Some customers in the past have anodized, powdercoat and painted them but most clean and clearcoat them. Below is my price list with transfer/order info. feel free to ask questions if needed. Sir What country do you live? All of my rails are brushed aluminum, no other color available but the rails can be powdercoated or even anodized after polishing. I'm sorry but that will have to be done on your end. A stock FPR or an aftermarket unit can be used with my fuel rails. I do not sell FPRs. I highly recommend Summit or JEGS for your FPR needs. Below is a price list of parts you picked and ones I recommend with the stock rail replacement. *~*L28E and L28ET*~* ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ >>Barbed rail kit base price.<< $205.00ea Insured and shipped outside the USA. *OPTIONS* >Coldstart port and fitting kit. $10.00. Confirmation would be great. Is there a tracking #? Cheers James PALLNET Allnet <pallnet@hotmail.com> 25 February 2015 at 21:50 To: James Sir Sorry for not giving you the heads up, I think my day job is overworking me at the moment. It was shipped a week ago from today on the 18th. Shipping out of the country takes a little longer, as can be expected. Here is the customs # CV033274625US I shipped it priority mail and insured with USPS. It shows the package to be in Miami Fl. For some reason when I ship an out of the country package it goes there before flying out to the country it's going to. Thank you. PALLNET James 26 February 2015 at 14:40 To: PALLNET Allnet <pallnet@hotmail.com> No worries, appreciate the update. Best, James James 2 March 2015 at 15:37 To: PALLNET Allnet <pallnet@hotmail.com> Hi Chap, This showed up today but it is the wrong fuel rail. I need an 11mm o-ring rail as per the subject line but I have in front of me a barbed rail, tapped with barb fittings. I have to leave for work to a remote mine later this week for a month so please explain how you want to resolve this. I realise you have broken your wrist but your help is obviously needing in resolving/returning and reissuing the correct rail. Look forward to your response, BestJames PALLNET Allnet <pallnet@hotmail.com> 2 March 2015 at 16:20 To: James Sir Copied directly from your paypal transfer. PALLNET James 2 March 2015 at 16:23 To: PALLNET Allnet <pallnet@hotmail.com> I copied and pasted the price list you gave me? I stated I needed oring in the initial email and in the subject line of every subsequent email?? PALLNET Allnet <pallnet@hotmail.com> 2 March 2015 at 16:54 To: James Sir I really can't count how many times people change their minds about their order because of mod changes. I get many emails where the talk is of a certain type of rail and then they have an injector change at the last minute, so the order is different from a week of email exchanges. Not saying this is the case but this explains why I make the order directly from the paypal transfer. This is why I ask to have the order in the transfer. There are options here. Package the kit well and return to me. I will make the other rail. Refund you the difference in price provided the old rail kit is complete and not damaged so I can sell it. or Return it to me complete and not damaged so I can sell it. I will issue a refund through paypal when it arrives. Thank you. It would have been a little more professional to take even partial responsibility in place of sending me the paypal invoice as a reply. Given the time and hassle involved for both of can you just tell me if the rail as is could be machined by a competent machine shop here given it's already drilled and tapped, to fit 11mm o-ring injectors? You're then absolved of having to do anything with your broken wrist. Best, James PALLNET Allnet <pallnet@hotmail.com> 2 March 2015 at 18:14 To: James Sir I honestly don't think it was a change of mind. I honestly think it was just an accident when ordering. Sometimes things happen and given the fact that we are many many miles apart it only makes it a little harder to resolve but I am willing to work with you and help you get the part that will work with your setup. I will be back in my shop in a week, with a cast and working so I no reservations about making the 11m rail. As far as reboring the holes to accept 11mm injectors, it can't be done without welding up the holes. This is not worth the effort. The o-ring rails are offset as well which adds complication to trying to rebore. The threaded holes are also too close in size as the 11mm holes. The only means of doing this correctly is to replace it with the right rail for the job. Thank you. PALLNET James 2 March 2015 at 19:18 To: PALLNET Allnet <pallnet@hotmail.com> Appreciate this. Can you tell me the address for returning the rail? I would like to exchange for an 11mm o-ring type rail. Sucks it can't just be machined but it's good to know! Best, James PALLNET Allnet <pallnet@hotmail.com> 2 March 2015 at 20:12 To: James P. Allnetremoved Let me know when to watch for it. I will make your replacement 11mm rail kit so it will be ready to go out for when the other arrives. Let me know if there is a change of address or anything like that. Other wise It will go to the same address. Thank you. PALLNET James 21 March 2015 at 16:03 To: PALLNET Allnet <pallnet@hotmail.com> Hi Pallnet, Have you received the rail yet? It should have gotten to you a couple of weeks ago. James PALLNET Allnet <pallnet@hotmail.com> 22 March 2015 at 10:18 To: James Sir First thing, I never have to do this but I feel the need in this situation. A full/total refund has been issued to you, please check your Paypal for the funds. Thank you for taking the time to return the rail you incorrectly ordered. I'm sorry that we couldn't do business but After removing the shipping funds from the original total there was no way to complete a transaction including shipping for a new fuel rail with the remaining total. I can't regain shipping funds. The refund should have had the $50.00 shipping removed from it but I absorbed the shipping expence. Althought doing this is not easy on my end because I can't go around giving people $50.00, I felt it was for the best. From your emails to me I feel that even if I sent the 11mm rail to you that somehow I would get another rude email from you at a later date. Please keep in mind that all of my emails are archived. Thank you. PALLNET James 22 March 2015 at 10:32 To: PALLNET Allnet <pallnet@hotmail.com> Pallnet, I'm a little lost for words to be honest, nowhere in the previous emails have I been rude, I would have paid for shipping so you weren't out of pocket if you'd asked. As I understood from our last email, a replacement "I will make your replacement 11mm rail kit so it will be ready to go out for when the other arrives" would be made, which you took upon yourself to offer...then not offer but just neglect to tell me about it. I realise you do this as a favour for people with Z cars, not to make be a millionaire. Not entirely sure why you feel the need to state that all your emails are archived...so are mine?? I'd ask that you reconsider, but it seems like you have your mind made up? Best, James Given that poor exchange, other sources of 11mm rails? NewZed
Read it through twice and it looks like you missed the opportunity to correct the initial simple communication error, and confirmed that you wanted a barbed rail.. Then Pallnet bent over backwards to be a nice guy, paid for your communication mistake (which is clear in the Feb. 5 & 6 e-mails), and gave you the money to start over. You have to pay the time for your error. It says "barb" three times in the list of options that you confirmed, and in your Paypal message. You should have corrected the mistake before you sent the Paypal money.
Leon
Agree with NewZed on this one. Peter's emails never came off as rude but yours did. Hard to detect tone over the internet...
rturbo 930
I see fault on both sides. Although you did ask for an 11mm O-ringed rail, the option you selected was the barbed rail - you should have caught that. At the same time, he should have been paying enough attention to connect the dots between the item you paid for (barbed rail) and the item you asked for (O-ringed rail) and realized there was a problem - I'm not under the impression he's doing hundreds of these things but maybe I'm wrong. And I think it does come off a bit rude calling him 'chap', mind you, I don't think I've ever heard an American call anyone 'chap' so I guess you could mark that down to cultural differences. But nonetheless, it comes off as rude. If the others think you were being rude for another reason, I'm not sure what it is, since you both made mistakes, IMO. Tony D
I got lost in the fact that you were quoted a barbed rail TWICE then ORDERED ONE on your PayPal! To me, that says you ordered a barbed rail. Don't blame him for your inability to correctly order what you wanted. Bad form.
