Well We passed, but we BURNED UP something on the lift motor... Somehow they clugged together a thumb button on a cord and then also had the button mounted on the unit. Every time I tripped the breaker the unit would run, and shoot fluid since I overfilled it... Got the overfill issue resolved but as I'm trying to troubleshoot the wiring I remove all the clugged stuff... And every reference point for wiring... I tried wiring it conventionaly and it tripped the breaker. Tried wiring it unconventionally several ways, and ended up cooking a switch and some wire... Not sure if I hurt the unit or not... Also managed to TOUCH myself with 220 current... I don't EVER want to do that again... That Sucked X10!

Well my buddy Dennis came over last night and we did some checking on the lift. It didn't get fried and I'm not losing my mind... Something in the wiring is funky. I need to contact the maker of the motor and get an electrical diagrahm of how it is supposed to be wired up!

I'll have my lift running sooner or later...

220 can throw you across the room. My friend died from touching that or something greater (don't want or need to know fronkly). Glad you are in one piece. 220 can cause some major damage. I nearly electrocuted myself when I was a kid by plugging in a night light while standing in a full bathtub. I do not want to repeat the experience. I imagine 220 is more painful.

I have a friend that is an electrician. He once worked with a man that would grab live wires to see how much voltage they had on them. He retired when he could not feel 110v anymore.

I used to work at a heavy equipment dealer in the recon. shop. We had 410v for big welders and plasma cutters. On day the shop a-hole was plugging in the lincoln while standing in a puddle of water. I heard a loud pop and walked over to see. He was laying on the ground about four feet from the outlet, shirt sleaves shredded, arms black and hair smoldering. Needless to say I never used those outlets again.

When I was in the service in Germany, I made the mistake of leaning across an appliance that had 440v/50Hz shorted to the housing, and grabbed a grounded faucet. Needless to say, I held on to that faucet for about four or five minutes (not by choice). After I finally got loose from the faucet I sat in the corner for about five hours, no energy to do anything else.
