Guest livewire23
Im thinking about getting a mitsubishi eclipse GSX (the AWD turbo one). That sounds like a money pit waiting to happen to me. Quick cars though, and they can actually get places in the snow. the point is to drive circles around Z28s in the winter in Iowa. or maybe an eagle talon Tsi AWD. Same car, but without some of the amenities, or the price tag.
Mike C
I've got a couple. No, I guess that is an understatement... Hi, my name is Mike. I have an addiction to internal combustion... At least I know there are a few other guys here in the same boat! 2 650 Jetskis (PJS 650 cylindered, Factory Pipe, twin carbed SX and a 44 Mikuni/Westcoast piped X2. Both have headwork, pump impellers, rideplates, etc.) 85 FJ1100 has a pipe and carb kit. 11.50's @ 115 takin' it easy. 95 Malibu Echelon 265hp skiboat. 77 twin shock YZ80 waiting a resto. 72 Jimmy 4 wheel drive, the truck I learned to drive in at 12. 70 GMC big block truck 69 Camaro that I've had since high school. 68 Camaro convertible, MAJOR project. Sitting on a dolly now with all of the suspension stripped out. Floor pans and interior paint soon... 64 Corvette, waiting to replace the convertible... 51 John Deere Poppin' Johnny Model A. 320ci TWO cylinder! 44 Willys MB, mostly restored and used as a hunting vehicle. And my latest "toy" a 200 amp Lincoln SA200 pipeliner gasoline powered stick welder on a trailer. Just the thing for fence work on the farm! One nice thing about buying old cheap stuff is you don't have to sell it to buy something else! Never had a new car, just opted to buy a different old car every year or two. My buddies were always getting involved in the latest and greatest fads. They'd buy an expensive car to go fast, I'd buy a cheap one. They got expensive dirt bikes, street bikes, trucks, etc. and I'd just buy a nice used one. Each time they changed hobbies, they had to unload the old one to buy the new one. I guess the advantage to that is they wouldn't have to maintain and store all of the crap I've acumulated
Guest ON3GO
um lets see. i collect model cars... and i build model cars too... its cheaper then the real thing. i also build my own R/C cars. my friends have all the cool HPI and etc cars with gas engines, and etc. with price tags in the 800's!!!!! I went to walmart, got a few 20 dollar ones, and went right to radio shack... oh ya i wipe the floors with them so bad.. i so far hit 65mph in my NSX one.. its got 3 electric motors, a tall motor gear and i dunno. lots of other stuff.. and my viper one has so much low end it cant get traction.. lol. i had a go-cart that was damn fast... like ScottGNZ fast. has a yahama 1000cc motor, with a 35shot of nitrous, different carbs, some port work, custom shifter, all one a small look-a-like VW sandrail chassie... sucker was fasssssssssssst. mike
DavyZ
Impossible to follow up Mike on his collection, but it doesn't take much to swallow your hard earned cash. Does the house qualify? I seem to spend money on home improvement stuff and the money just disappears... 1965 Ford Galaxy...289, AT, rust, etc. Books, books, more books...CD's, DVD's... Tools, coffee, tools, coffee, wine, tools, coffee, wine, coffee (you get the idea). I would say that besides the Z, the list above is where the money goes. Jay1970Z
Right now we have a 75 Jeep J10 4X4 w/ an AMC 360 in our garage waiting to become a swamp buggy. Will probably become the replacement for our former, now departed buggy, which was built off a 43 Willys Jeep. Also have the 70 240Z awaiting restoration (one of first 1000 built so no hybrid for it) Got a 17 ft. bass boat with a 60 hp Johnson, used primarily for bass fishing in the glades and flats fishing in the keys and wakeboarding. I think there is like an 85 Honda ATC somewhere out in my yard. Have more lawnmowers, weed whackers, and other stuff than I can count. Got a bunch of RC cars and boats that are just sitting in my attic, should probably sell them at a garage sale... Just got a 99 Explorer Sport, should probably sell that as well, since I'm tired of driving an SUV already. Also have my dads 85 Toyota 4x4, my mom's 97 325i, and my brother's 95 Accord. The one thing I still wish I had was my 93 Cadillac STS, that was such a fun, luxurious car. I loved the Northstar, too bad my brother totaled it driving it to school one day

spdsk8r
My collection is not quite as huge as most of you. My 280ZX, in process. I also have a cottage on a lake (huge money pit) a 24' pontoon boat and a go fast Checkmate speed boat. Not motorized, but I have a couple of pairs of $1500 inline speed skates also. Oh, cant forget my 360 powered Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited, or my wife's Olds Cutlass Convertible.
Mikelly
I'm absolutely SICK over Bicycles... I've got a Giant Carbon Fiber road (Team issue from 1996 CFRmodel) bike with Campy Record 10 speed drivetrain that weighs 17# and is worth about $4500. My Jamis Dakar Pro is a 27 speed, full disk, full suspension lockout 25# wonder off road! I also have a Giant Carbon Hardtail mountain bike. My wife has a GT Idrive FS with hydraulic brakes and 27 Speed. She has a Cannondale Road bike, womens specific geometry for her size! My son Craig has a Specialised FS with Full XTR drivetrain. He also has a Raleigh Road bike that is like brand new. I have every tool known to man to work on bicycles with, as well as enough gear to outfit an army... I always keep extras, so keep that in mind if you come visiting... You might end up going for a ride! My other expensive hobby is my drums... Full custom cage, 6 toms, double pedal hooked to a single kick, double snare, 10 cymbles, chimes, woodblocks and cowbells... Love my drumset... Full Mapex Laquer finish in crazy orange... And of course, the cars... 2 Zs, the wife's 95 'Stang, My 93 GMC, and 90 Civic, as well as the 240SX that the 15 year old just inherrited! None of my cars are stock! Last nut certainly not least, I got back into motorcycling last year and my ZX9R has every option imaginable, including extra bodywork, as well as racing tires out the WAAZOOO! I've also outfitted the wife and I with top shelf leathers, boots, helmets, and a communicator! My spending has been cut short due to the biggest money consumer you could have... OUR HOUSE! Yesterday alone I spent $140 on 100 landscaping stones to corral the gravel in our walkways... Very good looking in the back yard... Now to get grass in there! And of course, the family room and the upstairs of the garage have to be done before the end of summer or she is gonna get a rope and string me up! Guest livewire23
damn mike, that's quite the bike collection. I haven't gotten out riding recently, but I wish I had the specialized FS with the XTR kit. I've got a Trek 7000 with a XT/LX kit, and I really need to get a bike rack for one of my cars.

Guest livewire23
Does it have a back burner? The biggest grill we keep in stock has 8 burners, including six stainless steel burners, a back burner and a side burner, and it even has a sink on the side. And then there's the special order items.
