280Zen
Sounds like a Darwin Award to me! I have this posted at my desk! The problem with the world is stupidity! Not saying their should be a capital punishment for stupidity. Buy why dont we remove all the safety labels off everything and let the problem solve itself
BRAD D
True, I wonder how fast he was going. And was it worth the 1 foot of air??
Wagz
I know it sounds harsh, but I am a believer in the process of 'natural selection.' I'm not making light of someone's demise, but I agree with the quote 280Zen posted.
utvolman99
but I have done a few things that were more stupid than that and I think that if everyone here were honest they would admit to the same. I actually almost met the same fate as that kid. There was a much larger jump than that near a friend of mines house when I was in early college. you could take it at 40 in his FWD honda and when you topped the hill you could feel the front tires start to spin free, so you knew they were all the way off the ground. So you can imagine what would happen when your going 60! Anyway, one night shortly after I had finished my 69 mustang we decided to hit it hard. I dont know how fast we were going but my friend (who was in the pasengers seat said that the spedo (85 mph) had been bottomed out for about 500ft. When we launched all sh!t broke loose. the nose of the car shot up and I instantly lost all concept of were the road was. We hit like a ton of bricks and the car kicked sideways. Fortunantly I have some experiance in dirt track racing that kicks in when Im in a slide. I was able to pull out. I did however crush my front air dam and cracked my windsheild! Two of my friends were watching from the side of the road and they said that the front of my car was about five foot in the air. Good thing I didnt have to die to learn my lesson. Wagz
but I have done a few things that were more stupid than that and I think that if everyone here were honest they would admit to the same. No doubt. I certainly have too. I look back and think that I am lucky to be alive. I have, at times, deserved to be 'culled from the pack.' I was responding more to 280Zen's quote. I am just tired of warning lables and legislation designed to save us from ourselves. It's ridiculous. There is a reason for natural selection. And that includes the human race as well as all the little critters...

Guest zfan
What a price to pay! I would say most of us in our younger years pulled dumb ass stunts like that. We were just lucky enough to have survived those younger years. It's the parents I feel for, to have to bury your child. Mike
Dayz
Hey guys, that guy was a friend of mine. It's weird that I see that on the net!! That accident happen 2-3 years ago if my memory is good, The good thing about that is the driver was the only one that died. and not is friend. Well I used to live in Quebec city, 15 min from where it happened, they did a song about that and safety commercial about those image, agood thing I think. I have to say that he first did it at 160 kph after at 200, well what is the limit. He would have done it faster, if he hadn't die at the time. I guess we have to put ourselves some limits!!!! Guest Neil
We all do stupid things...we are in fact human... I think you mean "we are in fact guys". Seriously, you never hear of women doing stupid stuff like this. Watch America's Funiest Home Videos. Every stupid planned stunt gone ary is a guy (or guys) age 14 - 25. Must be the testosterone. yo2001
Done it. Not intentionally though. I did alot of stupid things when I was growing up.
Georgia Flash
You never dated the air head that I did for about two years. Way more dumberer than any guy I ever knew or know today. It's not a gender thing.

innerware
Just by the simple fact that we are guys and once were boys makes me wonder how there are more of us alive. Maybe we are part cat or something. I am definately a few lives short.
Georgia Flash
I guess thinking about it guys are more prone to taking more risks than our female counter parts, but the chicks I'm referring to are the ones that claim they can do it better or as good as the guys and damn if they don't try to do it! I had an ex (the one mentioned above) that fit nicely into this category. She had an 88 Trans Am and thought she could out drive any man. Well this one time we were zipping down a curvy bumpy and narrow country road when she went around a hair pin curve and lost control. We were sideways in the curve, in the road that was only about 10 feet wide in the first place. The bad part is we had no seatbelts on and a pickup truck was also entering the curve from the opposite direction. Talk about crapping my pants! I had visions of me flying through the open T-tops and landing in the ditch. There are other stories about this gal but I will not waste space here telling about her. Guest SeanyD300zxT
gonna have to agree with georgia flash....its not gender isolated...pulled way more girls out of the ditch, and I can't honestly remember having to turn any guys back on their wheels while they sat inside screaming....our stupidity may be routed in testosterone.....theirs in naive'ness(not a word I know)....something about getting to work late and the secretary sitting there smiling about how much faster she can drive now that she has 'blizzaks' on...bleh...people frighten me... Georgia Flash
LOL yes Neil she did ah have something that kept me around for that long It wasn't her driving abilities I can assure you
Guest Nic-Rebel450CA
It's not a gender thing. I think the dumb women are just too dumb to make a car that can go fast enough to get them hurt or killed
Mikelly
On the whole guy Vs. Girl thing I have to disagree... All you have to do is go to any haardcore porn site to see young girls doing extremely stupid things with a bunch of guys twice their age, So yes, girls use bad judgement too. I'm a HUGE Fan of natural selection, and more than a few members here have tasted my "Rules are rules" brand of justice. However, Being a parent of two teenage boys is certainly prooving that the parents are the ones who suffer the most. I'm a fan of Darwen making his selections, and yes I cheated him more than once as he was certainly caught napping... Kids do dumb stuff not thinking through to the possible end result, and yea weeding through them by removing the labels would help. However, a lot of great leaders were once stupid young boys...
