EvilRufusKay
I went to my garage tonite...even with a fire going and a propane heater running I was still freezing. I couldn't work!!! What a waste of time!!! I had to come home so I could drink my beer!!!

denny411
I`ve done some serious insulating in my garage to help keep it warm this winter. I remember when I first moved here the garage had no insulation, and my 150000 btu heater wouldn`t even take the chill off. Now it will cook me out. Next on the agenda is to get my new furnace plumbed in and running.
Guest Aaron
in the garage I am building, I am planning plenty of insulation, and a small antique coal heater to keep it warm. Of course in AL, I will use it about 4 times a year.
Guest Z-rific
Aaron, Is this a subliminal hint for me to drive down and use your garage in the winter?
mas28O
When I built my new garage insulation was a must, I used r13 in the walls and r30 up top.
EvilRufusKay
Yea I really want to build a garage at my house but I don't know if I will be there more than 5 years and at this point I would rather spend 5k on my car than a garage...but I am still thinking about it. If I did build then I would go the same route as you mas.

DatsunBoy77
Its nice and warm here in NY. -7 right now. It wouldnt be so bad but the 30mph winds drop it down to -35. It sucks.
Scottie-GNZ
So a bunch of us Orlando guys were at the track last and we were freezing our butts off. It had to be at least 55*.
dot
When I was sooooo much younger I found that beer coolers (those foam things that surround the bottle) will stop them from freezing so fast. Now I’m getting arthritis in my fingers from a misspent youth of twisting ice cold bolts.
Jay1970Z
Hey Scottie, the thermometer in my car read 47* around 11 PM last night out here in the UCF area.
Guest HBskinheadZ
Shorts and sandles in my garage last night with the door open. I dont mean to rub it in, it is warmer here. I am orig from upstate NY so I know cold, but we have our own kinda cold weather out here and turning up the heat will get you in trouble. DatsunBoy77
Just as an update from a couple hours ago. Now -11 with a windchill up past -45, yes that is right we are suppose to hit 50 DEGREES BELOW ZERO!
