cbuczesk
Get some new floors and frames from Zeddfindings. Replacing is actually quicker and easier than repairing. It takes about 40 hours total from start to finish to replace both sides. Chuck
Tim240z
No...cut out the entire floor and weld in new ones. Either purchase the floors as above, or just use some 18 gauge sheet like I did...see my site for pictures...while you're at it, weld in some subframe connectors..... http://tim240z.iwarp.com/photo3.html
BillZ260
I am with Tim. Buy yourself some 18 ga sheet. IIRC, 2 sheets 2'x5' or somewhere close to those dims will get you very close to coving both sides entirely. Sub Frame con's are a good idea no matter what you plan on doing to the car. You can do it all for less than 100 bucks + welding if you don't weld.
Ferd/289
Wondering whether when replacing floors should you copy the pattern of the two 1.5 inch holes that are in the original floors, by the drivers heel, and passengers heel. I never knew what these are for and if the holes should be sealed from the outside with something like rubber grommets. Ferd
Mikelly
That is a floor drain plug and you could add them if you like, but I don't intend to let my car fill with water... 'Course we don't generally deal with a lot of flooding, so your mileage may vary! Mike
gnosez
Holes and subsequent rubber plugs are not required unless this is a stock restoration. Just remember to put the tranny cross member in before welding up the pans. The last thing you need is a tunnel that is too small for your driveshaft....
