Guest 83supaZ
i see ppl in the inline 6 forums posting they have around 190rwhp and are running 13-15 1/4 mile times... so what the heck are ppl with the 450 hp 383 strokers or 400sbc's running? mid to high 10's? Guest zfan
Traction limited low 11's on a medium modified 383 sbc. Mike
Pyro
My 71 240 with 350cid and N20 has run 10.7 at 135mph (6.9 at 110mph 1/8 mile) with drag slicks but stock R200 diffs and axles don't last more than 10 passes. It not fun when parts keep breaking. I feel low 12's/high 11's are about it for the stock Z rear end components if durability is an issue. Guest zfan
If you want to do the swap right, atleast in my opinion I would do the R230 with mosser axles. Mike
dr_hunt
Over the edge 357 ci, powerglide, 9 inch ford, 9 inch slicks, traction limited, 10.50's at 136mph smoking the slicks off the line past the 60 ft mark while pedaling it. I'm going to play with spring rates in the coil overs as well as tire pressure, but it looks like a backhalf job is upcoming so I can stuff some 17x33's under it. I think if it hooks up, it'll be in the 9's at 5300 ft elevation and lower 9's elsewhere.

awd92gsx
So...how about the more mild engines? Say, a stock 350 with an aluminum intake, 650 carb, maybe a mild cam + headers.

dr_hunt
Well, when my boy bought the 260z in AZ last August, it had inspection stickers from Phoenix firebird raceway. He had timeslips and said that it had a completely bone stock 350 with a th350 auto, no stall, 4.56 gears in the nine inch rear, and it ran 13.20 at 105mph. Not too shabby, enough to blow most cars in the weeds.
fl327
with an auto the stock setup will last a while with a stick, maybe I had more trouble breaking mounts and frames than 1/2 shafts with the v8 conversion.

Guest zfan
83SupaZ, I would guess low 12's to high 11's. Of course you got to hook up first!!!!!!!!!! There in lies the biggest problem. Mike

Phantom
Totally stock LS1 except edited ECM, K&N intake & headers. T56 through 3.70:1 R200 LSD and Yokohama 225/50-16 street tires. 12.9@110 best run. Traction limited so only got 2.0 60' and exhaust limited on upper end because only a single 2.5" exhaust at the time. It has dual 2.5" now but no recent runs.
