Collectindust240Z
So what's the catch? This seems almost too good to be true. Do you have to be active in NASA's track events or just a member?
2003z
I joined NASA and sent in my order yesterday. Someone on zcar.com said the program was over, but they said it wasn't. I actually plan on doing NASA events too, just never joined them before. another thought though. What if this Ernie guy is a scammer who put an ad in GRM, spoofed a konig email address and is just taking our $$$$?
Collectindust240Z
good point. I'm a little skeptical too. Anyone recieved their wheels yet?
loy
Supposedly a few individuals have them in the mail. I was recently charged by "KONIG IMPORTERS PLAINVIEW NY" Also they have been listed as benefits/deals exclusive to nasa members on some nasa websites

technicalninja
Spoken with more than just Earnie at Konig. If it is a scam it is a complex one which involves NASA and GrassRoots Motorsports. The people at Konig sounded like the responce to this offer is quite business disrupting for them. I believe its real and am waiting for my wheels (have not received them yet and wouldn't be suprised if it takes Konig quite a while to fill all of the orders.) Earnie spoke of the deal lasting for a year but it wouldn't suprise me if it was shut down sooner.
2003z
how long did it take to get confirmation of your order? I sent mine in day before yesterday and haven't gotten a response yet.
evildky
no need to be a skeptic, this offer was published in GRM, of course this is after I got wheels speaking of GRM, look for my car in the coming august issues challange coverage 10th place
auxilary
I emailed Ernie today, and got the generic response: Dear NASA Member: Please provide me with the following information and we be able to process your request thank you: * Wheel desired: * Type of car: * Class Run: * NASA Region: * NASA membership number: * NASA membership expiration date: a * Sticker color: * Credit card: * Shipping Address: * Contact Number: Note: please send us a picture of your car once the wheels are mounted on your race car for Marketing purposes thank you NOTE: IF YOU HAVE RECIVED THIS MESSAGE ONCE BEFORE PLEASE PROVIDE US ONCE AGAIN WITH THIS INFORMATION TO ASSURE YOUR ORDER THANK YOU .. The part in BOLD font bugs me. A lot. Unless they're implying just the type of card, and not requesting the actual #. Never send your CC# over email or any form unless it's a secure transaction verified by verisign, thawte, etc.
loy
yeah they're asking for the cc number i think u can phone it in for more security over a non secure email
