Guest Slow_Zed
Great to see you back into the Zed Mull. I know how hard it can be to stay focussed on a project.... You now truly have an international audience, and inspire anyone that sees these vids.... Keep it up
Shift
Just realized that half of the vid was just messing around. Isn't that how it always is when working on a car

mull
Wow great vid nice to see the project back up and running ! You will have to give details on the rear skyline suspension mod it looks Awesome ! Thank you (to you - and all others letting me know the new vid was a good thing) Details such as...? The IRS/cradle was pulled from a Skyline R32 GTS. The hubs will be swapped to a 5-lug setup and the brakes will recieve upgrades sometime in the future A coilover setup will be installed along with camber plates/pillowball mounts, have yet to decide what brand of adjustable coilovers to use. There are some details for ya

mull
The world is upside down. Today there's been a lot of cutting, hammering, welding and grinding in order to get the IRS to fit and do its job without banging into the rear subframes/tool box-thingys. The cradle is now getting pretty close to where it's supposed to be. So far we've seen no reason as to chop out the entire tool box-thingys since there seems to be enough room when making some space. Starting next week there will be some square tubing shopping so there's something to mount the eh, mounts (in)to. There's also a slight chance seeing a one-wheel 5-lug hub conversion (in order to check the wheel clearance) as well. We'll see : )

There are some details for ya Hehe Details such as the one you just gave ! And did you base your calculations on the 240SX IRS some member did here ? Im asking because i think it is a great way top have other options for a modern IRS design that can give options on coilovers brakes and other parts ... hope i made sense in my comment lol
mull
Hehe Details such as the one you just gave ! And did you base your calculations on the 240SX IRS some member did here ? Im asking because i think it is a great way top have other options for a modern IRS design that can give options on coilovers brakes and other parts ... hope i made sense in my comment lol It's based on pictures from maichors swap. Placement is pretty much a no-brainer since there are only so many ways you can put it on without getting the weel placement looking all daft. Compared to previous and similar swaps, I'd have to say we stepped it up a bit by not cutting away the toolbox-thingys underneath the car, doing the measuring with professional instruments and also getting the IRS bolted into place by using proper bolts machined to the measurements of the original ones I have a picture update coming in a couple of minutes. Just have to translate the picture descriptions into english first. Hang on for 23 pics =)
mull
I'm pretty much overwhelmed right now. I used to apply a saying, by a wise swedish childrens comicbook turtle - Skalman, to this build. The saying (roughly translated) is: Hurry slowly. When Huddinge Kustoms took the reins, they kicked Skalmans saying right off the wagon and put rockets on it. So uh... How many days did it take to construct, build and finish the R32 Skyline IRS-swap? Answer: 2 days. Sure sure, there are some welds still to be done - but I'm *bleep* blown away by the progress made in the last few days. In fact, my brain is starting to melt down - so here are some (23) pictures of todays progress! Oh, one more thing: mull Huddinge Kustoms Like I said, chopping up - not yet finished. Mr Andreas - aka. chop-meister aka. Rear-IRS-master: D See where the massage has been placed? Some muscle-breakage occurred (not to much surprise) thus, Hugo needing some attention. And grinding. Sore muscles fixed up : ) Chop chop. Bloody rust! Death, rust and taxes, I tell you. Some L-profiles welded in place to hold the measuring device. This is what all tape measures dream of being reincarnated as : ) After measuring, Andreas started cutting up some square tubing. ...in order to have something to mount the front mounts to. No holes = no mounting = break out the drill! Chop chop! Stepping it up a notch further. Tubing inside the square piping. Weld. Welding inside - who needs Intel? : ) And in a flash, all mounts were done! No words needed. I'll do some cheering instead! WOop woop! : D Pretty tight fit : ) Some flares might be needed - the tires are 185 wide : P Andreas is pretty pleased with the progress as well : ) Like I said, very very pleased Andreas - My smile is twice as wide : ))) And this is what it looks like from the side. More to come...! Even after this monster (spoiler) update, there's a new video coming sometime in the near future. I just have to try to make room for the video on my harddrive : ) Woop woop! : )
