Yup, that's the difference between running a manual and an automatic behind a big HP turbo engine. The WRX is automatic and AWD. They do allow AWD in the Sport RWD class but not sure if there is a weight penalty. There is for running the automatic but it hardly hurts the performance. Guest ON3GO
The rear end has 300zx Z32 cv's which Mark said are beyond awesome! trying to get a set made up for our Z's. the tranny is 100% stock, its a junkyard unit like we had in the P!*KS car . he said with a auto it would be alot faster but he likes having the manual in the car and plus he is now selling the Z32 tranny adapter/bellhousing for the SR's and now L Block so he doesnt want to switch trannys just yet. btw guys... Mark is a super nice guy!
veritech-z
According this article (I've still got this back issue at home), Jun went 8.88 in the 1/4 mile back in 1998 on a stock rear end sylvia...
Hugh
Yup, that car made over 100 passes, too. (without a rebuild) Some people never knew that SR powered cars have been running sub-10 seconds for years. There are a bunch of them in Japan in the nines.
Z-Gad
How about nearly a 1000rwhp sr20det!! The pull was done in 4th gear and the rpm pickup was not functioning properly, so it is in MPH instead. Mark said that he let out around 8500 rpm's, but the engine will turn 10,000 rpm's!! If you can't make it out, it is actually 998 whp!! The car has only been running for a few months, and is still getting sorted out. I wonder what kind of 1/4 mile numbers we'll see when they are in Vegas next weekend!! Should be interesting...
JustinOlson
OMG, that is nuts! 45psi I'd imagine plus that 150shot. WOWZA And that VG transmission is still holding?

Scottie-GNZ
There's also the S14 on the Exvitermini site that went 8.766 @ 154.63 mph. Is that a 4 or 6cyl power? Any word on how the testing went at Bradenton on Saturday?

JustinOlson
yeah, the exvitermini page seems to be down right now? Justin
zero
yea their site seems to be down but if i recall correctly their sr20 s14 ran something around an 8.6. They offer built longblocks to make similar power for a price.
Garrett76Zt
Scottie, I talked with Mark . . . the previous best for the car was 9.28. At Bradenton the car ran no nitrous and a bit less boost than the 998whp run. and the car made 4 9.2 passes in a row! So the car is looking good for the weekend where I KNOW he'll be turning up the wick!
