Z-Dreamer
While hanging drywall in a room I added to my home, I noticed that I'd "forgot" some backing for the ceiling drywall. So I decided I'd cut some blocks and then "screw" the drywall to them! Yes, you guessed it, not watching what I was doing, I screwed right thru my left index finger! And if it was possible to make matters worse, I did it with a drywall screw gun and they don't have reverse! Since my cordless screw gun was across the room, I was stuck with hand at the ceiling. Sigh... at this point I swallowed my pride and yelled for any of my family members to come to my assistance! After about 30 seconds two of my children entered the room and stared in amazement at their dad and before I could ask one of them to hand me my cordless, they run out of the room screaming! Sigh... they returned with my wife. Sheepishly, I explained what happened and asked if someone would please hand me the cordless! So now I'm nursing my finger and medicating with beer. grumpyvette
your NOT unique... my son ran a 2" drywall screw thru his thumb while trying to screw a QUARTER to the door frame (NO I DON,T UNDERSTAND WHY EITHER) he walked into my bedroom with the screw thru his thumb, I told him to go get the screw gun, and proceeded to reverse the screw out, then ran the S$%%^ TO the local walk in clinic, I guess doing a few stupid things while growing up is a mandatory phase
DavyZ
Ouchers! Take care of that thumb, Mark, since you'll need it for remodelling!!! Best wishes on a speedy recovery. Davy
Dan Juday
... I guess doing a few stupid things while growing up is a mandatory phase I think Grumpy just told you it's time you grew up. Actually, Mark only acts likes he's 25 years younger than he is. Sorry buddy, just had to pull your chain. That's a big bummer and a lot of pain. Plus being self employed you can't call in all that sick time you've got saved up. I feel for you bro. I'll remind you to the Father. Heal fast, you've got a lot of mouths to feed. Guest JAMIE T
When Iwas installing security systems in commercial buildings I noticed an OSHA injury log at one of the business' and the comment was "Drilled Finger". Sorry you did that. I just finished a few months ago putting a new ceiling up in my new house.
MONGO510
When I was building my sunroom I managed to drive a 16 penny nail thru my foot with a nailgun and into the roof. It effectively nailed me to the building. Luckily I had a hammer within reach and could pull it out. DUH!
johnc
In a past career as a roofer I nailed my thumb to the roof with a nail gun. I couldn't reach my pliers so a buddy came over and used his pliers to yank the nail out: Buddy: "Ok, here goes, 1, 2, 3... Sorry, we'll try again. 1, 2, 3... Oh that musta hurt. One more time, 1, 2, 3..."

GLSHLE
It's not that hard to do . I was installing commercial window frames with a 25 caliber ramset, trying to hold the shims in I nailed my finger to the building. No use being a dumbass unless you can prove it!
