heh, cool pictures. It is kinda odd to be scrolling through those American cars and all of a sudden up pops a Datsun. I don't mind it, though. Out of place sort of, but who cares?

And I love that Cobra

Ha, just noticed this what show this was; My grandpa was down there selling hot rods. He sent me a shirt from the event.

I also think that the Datsun does not fit here ... after all' date=' it's a nicely handling sportscar, not a hot rod [/quote']

Ahem... Not many of the cars in quesitons were hot rods, they were muscle cars! Geez, if you wanna get pickey make sure you're picked about the words ya choose.

Oh well, at least it was a nice looking Z. To me though, the Z is one of the few cars that can breach that gap between american and japanese cars. It's got a bit of muscle in it's looks while being an icon of vinage jap racing.

funny you should mention the celica... i've been looking for one for sale for about 2 months now...

I figure it'll make a good daily with future prospects as an overhaul project.

The front end of the celicas have dodge written all over it to me. Very demon-ish.

Its the same old problem, old vs new, Detroit steel vs Import. I run into this all the time with the old school die hards. The PIC of the Z was clean. And as for timing...hell, don't let it bother you. If I rolled up in the MuscleZ no doubt it would turn a few heads, and spark a few comments. And when I first entered the Muscle type shows I got a certain amount of flack from the purists. However, they have to understand I have the best of both worlds. The last year of the Muscle car was 1972. After that it all went south. But, that is what I have, actually two Z's. The MuscleZ and the Orange Crate. Both running Chevy muscle motors. The stock Z has great lines, spawn from Corvette, Jaguar and Farrari, coupled to a sweet slant 6 which was the Japanese copy of the Mercedes engine. So from the get, the Z is ahead of its time and comes from an International stage. So, the next time there is a Muscle car show and you want to enter your Z, get ready for a little ribbing, but knowing the roots of your car, Detroit iron is pasae. Hope that helps!

These are two Z projects that lend itself well to the words Muscle Car!
