Mikelly
...Just passing the Northern entrance to The Flamingo Casino (actually the entrance to Jimmy Buffet's resteraunt.), when I'm literally thrown on the ground... HARD. I roll onto my back to see what the hell is going on and see this absolutely FILTHY skinny, Charlie Manson looking dude grappling with a woman in either a police or security uniform. The officer is getting the worst end of the deal, and 'ole Charlie has pissed ME OFF!!! I mentioned yesterday that I kinda injured my knee while at the Grand Canyon on Sunday, but right now I can't feel it, because I'm just pissed... So I get up and grab this guy and pull him off her... I took a swing as he was coming up... So I throw him HARD to the ground and in the process I'm apparently hit him four times, cutting one of my knuckles...I'm now sitting on this guy holding him and a large crowd has gathered... I look at the lady in uniform who is a security guard for Ballys and I ask "So what do you want to do? You have some cuffs?" Her answer... "Uh no, I just want him out of our casino..." She was assaulted, I was assaulted, and the guy is clearly intoxicated, and a danger to others... So I tell this piece of excriment that I'm letting him up and if he takes a swing he will be down for good... He gets up and screams at the top of his lungs at me and threatens the earth with his bare hands... And walks away... So I go in side with the guard and her manager, and as we're walking up the stairs, I realize that the two of them just fell down those stairs as she was grappling with him to get him off the premises... It was easily a 6 ft. fall... Either one of them could have been seriously hurt... I also realize I'm covered in DIRT... This guy was filthy... So I go use their restroom and clean up a bit, the manager gets me some water and thanks me for my assistance... The guard is pissed that I've mentioned how dumb it was to wrestle with that guy at the top of concrete steps... Wonder if I coulda got a comp'ed meal? I'm pretty much done with the crowds and traffic of vegas... Mike
Warren
Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, you're not supposed to tell about this...remember, what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. Seriously though, glad you made it out with just some dirt. There's so much going on in Vegas right now, it's almost crazy. SEMA, NAMPMA, NHRA, PBR, etc...that place HAS to be a madhouse right about now. Now you can say that you've had your very own "Freemont Street Experience"... johnc
A lot like Burbon Street in NO during Mardis Gras. I was walking down the street with a few friends to get another Huge Ass Beer when we saw this guy just pounding on a woman's head next to a wall. We start to run over to break it up but this NO cop on a horse rides between the man and the woman, spins the horse and the man around, and then side passes the horse HARD into the wall with the man as the meat in the horse/brick wall sandwich. We heard this LOUD exhale and the guy collapses on the ground in a pile, then the woman starts pounding on the horse and screaming at the cop. The horse turns its head around and bites her hard on the arm and rips off her blouse. She screams and starts running down the street with boobs a flopping and two other cops on foot in pursuit. This all happened in about 15 seconds. We look at each other and one friend says, "It doesn't get any better then this!"
dr_hunt
Crap, Dan you were right, we can't let Mike out of his cage anymore! No telling WTF he'll do next! And this was what Monday night? Mike what do you do on Friday night or do we really need to know?
Dragonfly
Mike... what is going on with you? If it weren't for the fact that I know you I would think you were a trouble maker. Well I think you should be grounded for a while... lets see you should only be able to go to work and to races until it seems you are no longer going to hurt yourself or get into street brawls (or about a week whichever happens first). Mikelly
And today I went to the SEMA show.... HICHIWAWA... No need to visit a gentlemen's establishment... I will be posting pics when I get back home... I took over 180 today with my old Kryosera camera before it died... So I called it quits and ran out to the store and bought a real digicam... I think it's real anyway... Minolta, DiMage Z6. I'll burn some more bits tomorrow and make a folder on my yahoo account... So I spent the rest of the later part of the afternoon with the wife (who skipped class) and went out to Red Rocks Canyon Park and played with the new camera.... Should be ready for SEMA tomorrow... For those who've never done SEMA LV... Do it... There is TO MUCH to see in a day or two... Almost makes me want to extend until Friday. randy 77zt
unless there is a reason to goto vegas like sema or the consumer electronics/porn convention i really dont like going there.i can get a plane ride there for $50 1 way.any good show there is +$100 a seat.after a couple of hours off that electronic slot machine noise my brain feels all mushy like one of my bad habits in high school. Yup, Randy, You're right... This is atleast the 5th time I've been here since 1989. Every time it gets worse... I wouldn't be here this week, except my wife is in training and asked me to accompony her. Had it not been for the SEMA convention, I'd have not had a good time during the day. That said, I did have an enjoyable day at SEMA yesterday, and I'm heading out there again this morning. I'll hook up with two more HybridZers and do some more walking... What amazes me is just how much stuff there is to do away from this place... You drive 30 minutes and get away from the city and you have the dam and lake mead, or Red Rocks Canyon Park, and I'm sure there are tons of other places... And forget about gambling at Vegas unless you bring stacks of cash. I've not found a single poker table for less than $25 per hand... I've got cash to blow and even I find these entry fees NUTS to saddle up with... I'll be 110% happier when my little butt is on that plane home tomorrow. randy 77zt
took my e150 cargo van down there about 1 1/2 years ago because my neighbor had tickits to a boxing match at mgm.its about an 8 hour drive from my house.where we screwed up was by not loading up my fz1 and his gsxr750.a sunny ride out to the dam and lake mead would have been more fun than hanging out on the strip.+ the van is a b#$%^ to park. Tombarace14
I'd really love to make the trip to SEMA sometime, maybe next year. Atleast you put the smack down on the drunk hobo.
Mikelly
Just finished up this trip at Vegas and I'm getting on a plane to head home... I'll do a big write up on my take on SEMA, and post all 900 of the pics I took (Including a special "Girls of SEMA" folder) later on over the weekend... It'll be in the yahoo folder... I'll be wheels up at 1235 Vegas time!!! The wife and I are ready to get home... Mike
