Nice looking engine in the Big Tire Z, Damn the braid and lines. Looks like it is Nitrous assisted fuel injecting. You know Jon you are going to have to give us something like the break or a couple of lengths.

Looking forward to meeting you and seeing both the Zcars run. Should be a Great time.

Nice.....Any exterior pics of the big tire car. I'm using it as an example of how i want my car to look when it sits on the ground. Right now ride heigth is adjusted with a floor jack :< but should be no higher then this pic. front suspension needs to come way down.

The Quality is not so good because of shoting Pics inside. The Chassis ride height is 4.5'' on the front ( frame to the ground ) and 5.5'' on the rear ( frame to the ground ) I hope this helps.

Thanks,

Jon

Maybe you posted this already and I missed it, but have you altered the wheelbase on your big tire car? It looks like there's a little more area on the fender between the wheel opening and the door. It also looks like there may be a liittle more in front of the wheel opening as well with the hood dropping down a little lower than stock. Was the fiberglass front end custom made?

Or maybe I'm seeing something that isn't there?

Bartman, The wheel base is 98'' long. The fiberglass front end has been streched 6'' long. We took 4 fenders and 2 hoods cut and added together to do this that a guy ( don't rember his name ) molded for us out of Knoxville, Tn back in 1989 when we built the Z car

Was their any advantages to doing this?

Hey! New to the board, but have a small block chevy in my 260z (actually I have two 260's with small blocks) and was the winner of "Pinks" taped September 16, 2006 at Virginia Motorsports Park. The show will air in February 2007 (Season 4). See a small video (one of our crew made for us) at http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=7365161080397611287 The car that we ran on this show is a 1974 260Z "Little Tire Car" (street legal 3200 pounds with driver), with a 800-RWHP 415 cubic inch SBC. I have Dart 23-degree heads with a NX single stage Shark Nozzle system and an HVH/NX plate system. 3 3/4 stroke crank, 6'' rods, Bowtie Block Tranny is 350 Turbo with 3000 nitrous converter, stock suspension, with a .370 Corvette center section on a 27 x 10.50 x 15" Hoosier Quick Time Pro D.O.T. Tires. My best ET in this car has been at 2800' elevation......5.86 at 121 mph in the 1/8 mile and 9.0 at 150 mph in the 1/4 mile.

Also have another 1974 260Z "Big Tire Car"( street legal 2800 lbs with driver ) as posted below " Fastest Street Legal Z " by SHAI. It has 1100-RWHP 442 cubic inch SBC and a Kinsler Fuel Injection, 1 Stage NX Shark Nozzle System, 23 # 867 heads, 4 1/16 stroke crank, 6'' rods, Dart Bolck, 350 turbo with a trans brake, 3800 stall nitrous converter, 4.11 gears with 33x18.50x15'' Hoosier Quick Time Pro D.O.T. Tires My best time in this car has been at 300' elevation....... 5.06 at 140 mph in the 1/8 mile and 7.86 at 176.00 in the 1/4 mile I will try to get some pics of both cars up. if anyone has any questions call me at 1-888-289-6261 or e-mail jon1quick@earthlink.net :burnout:

Congrats, Jon! I'm shocked that you would have risked putting the car up for collateral in a race, but I am glad that you won!

Congrats.....and what car, pray tell, did you bring home that night????
