big-phil
Phil,Did you build the megasquirt yourself? When you had the camera close to the intake to show the fuel pressure there was an obvious clicking sound, is that the injectors? My LT1 has a clicking sound like that which I've pretty much narrowed down to the injectors but I didn't think they should be that loud. Wheelman I did not build it my self, I got it from DIYautotune.com preassembled. And yes that "clicking" is the injectors poping away. When I bought this car almost 3 years ago (all stock) That was one thing that had me worried. I told the guy "it needs a valve adjustment" But no, it was just the injectors. wheelman
I have a Megasquirt II V3 that I assembled. It works fine with the stimulater but I haven't installed it in a car yet. I was going to use it in a Volvo 245 I was given but sold the car when I was offered $500.00. I've considered using the MS on my LT1 but haven't made the attempt yet as I have the GM PCM working fine and don't want to mess it up. Anyway I was just curious if you had built yours and what you thought of the experience. I enjoyed assembling mine and look forward to using it someday. linluv84
You might try it on the LT1 and sell the gm parts to some f-body guy for some $$$. I personally love being in complete control of the engine...
cygnusx1
It sounds like the injectors are ticking normally and the head sounds pretty good too. Since I put in my P90A I've almost forgotten the sound of a solid lifter Z head. Nice!!!! OK Phil, next time you're in NY stop by and help me get rid of the nasty Nissan FI stuff. When ever I got to a point and did not know the answer I just posted the question. Like the dwell settings, Inverting the spark signal, and the car not shutting off with the key. I fixed all those with help from other HybridZ members.

I'm thinking of making a video of the entire install. Mods that I had to do to Megasquirt, file downloads, installing the .s19 file, linking msns-extra on your computer. Then the tunning side of it. Would you guys like to see that? Next weekend I'm going to a freinds house, and we are going to hook up his wideband to my car, then tune from there. The video camera will be there as well. I would post a tutorial like that here as well as the megasquirt official forums. I Know for sure that many people would find it helpful for their projects! Did you know you are on the wrong side of the street? I love the wheels on your car! My head gasket is standard, and the cr is also standard dished piston ratio. The motor is stock. I Know for sure that many people would find it helpful for their projects! __________________ -brandon I second that, even though I assembled and installed my MSII (which wires up almost identical to MS) into my 280, before I turboed it. (It's a good idea to install MS on a car that runs...that way you're not suspecting engine probs) I installed mine using the stock wire harness, and I posted it here, unfortunately I didn't have a camera at the time so there are minimal pictures. It's in a sticky because it has the pinout for the stock ECU and the location of the stock Fuel Pump Relay (Unlike phil I chose to adapt the stock electronics...i didn't want to buy the relay board and find a place to mount it...with my Profec, my electric boost gauge, and the mS, and the turbo swap and huge intercooler, I was running out of room!) thorfin
Really liked your video--I smiled the whole time--enjoy your success!!------LOL with you struggling to find the right tap at the hardware store--I've been to that same store and its great because you save a lot of time cause they don't have what you need, and then you go home! linluv84
The head temp sensor uses a fuel injector connector and has a bosch temp curve. The numbers come preloaded into easytherm, but be aware that the gm defaults are fahrenheit and the bosch defaults are in celsius. I just copied down the bosch numbers and plugged em back in...
