SteelToad
... maybe some slotted body coloured metal screwed into place? You mean something like this ? I'm in the process of getting the work done now. Check the site in the signature for what it all looks like without the trim or windows
240zttv8
i think that they both look good, but im leaning towrds the complete window delete. it looks so much smoother and has that fastback look too. this would look good on all the s series cars,IMO. Guest Mike
240zttv8... If you like that look I suggest you take a gander at the fiberglass Pantera hatchback. I must agree about the clean lines.
David K
I like it, but it needs a Hello Kitty shaped window on the side!
V8_DatZun
i agree it looks better filled in... maybe a vent or SMALLER window.. like what has been posted.. just i think i'd try and find dif shaped ones or something... and instead of making that filled in area flad i thinkd i'd make it flare out a little looks pretty good modified though
Guest Mike
Daivid K... What is "hello kitty"?
260DET
I had my pillar covers powdercoated black. You guys should try it before anything extreme. Might try that, but leave the rest of the chrome trim shiny. Do it with some paint that can be easily removed if it looks off. Nice car by the way. Guest Mike
I may just be an ignurnt Texus $hit-kikker but I gess I jist don't git it. I use pillars ta' sleep on. Seems kinda' silly ta' paint 'em.
David K
Daivid K... What is "hello kitty"? Well, here goes this thread
Guest Mike
Doggone it, David. Why are you a-pickin' on me? [shakes fist and snarls... but doesn't really mean it]
SteelToad
Ok, now take the photoshopped picture without the rear window, shave the door handles, remove the gas cap, and either remove the marker lights, or move them down into the body kit. ( Dang, I cant wait till mine is done )
Guest Mike
^^^ That's a nice clean look. I LIKE IT!! ^^^ Now lets lower it a couple inches and paint the ground effects black... EDIT... BTW... Sorry for the rushed hack job on the shadows...
SteelToad
I like the lowered profile, and that paint stripe sets it off nice. I just removed the wheel dings, and blended the headlight buckets. I hope he doesnt mind us messing with his car
Guest Mike
LOL... as long as we're messing with a PIC of his car and not his CAR... he's probably okay with it. Here's another idea... just smoothed the lines of the ground effects, shaved the rear bumper, and decreased the extension of the front bumper a bit. Only one problem... it's starting to look light a Porsche 928, heh, heh. Oh... I stole your wheels. Please don't call the cops!!
SteelToad
I love the shaved bumpers and rounded grille on anything before the ZX. I think the ZX has too many triangular lines up top (especially without the rear window) to be able to pull off rounded curves on the bottom . The MSA bodykit just enforces the aggressive angles while covering up the hideous stock bumpers. What your last pic needs is to round off the lower corners of the door, and maybe move the bottom door line up an inch to separate it from the trim
Guest Mike
You asked for it. I added a front fender vent too but it may be a bit much. The idea is to simplify, after all. However these do have a useful purpose. I rounded the side window edges a bit just for fun.
award280
Do you think you can go back to the original pic, and just make the pillar trim body color?
Guest Mike
^^^ Sure but don't you like our Z-928 ??? ^^^
SteelToad
Two things that are pretty amazing : - All of those mods are thoroughly do-able without too much work. - Graphics program sure have come a long way
