Careless Posted July 17, 2007 Share Posted July 17, 2007 so I bought a 1250 lb engine support stand. and the bolts don't fit into the holes on the RB, but the bolts that do fit look to be pretty week for a long iron block. How did you fasten your engine to your stand? On the FSM, it shows the RB being mounted from the side using two special plates. My friend has the same engine stand holding up a 350, and it's been there for years. But that's with the bolts it came with. With the bolts to fit the RB, im worried. synthtk Posted July 18, 2007 Share Posted July 18, 2007 I bolted mine to the 4 transmission mounts, sat like that for months with no issue. UGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH, i just want to know what the thread pattern is if anyone knows it. Aswell as the lenght. I don't have a tap set right now (stolen from a friend's house) and I don't want to take the tranny bolts out of my cars tranny to prop up an engine. If i had a good reason to hold up my engine with an L28 bolt set, now that I know, I would use it. but i don't... and this could be information that OTHER people can use if someone would be so kind......... They are 2 3/4 long (may not work for you due to engine stand design) and the pitch is 1.50 metric.
