stony
I cant remember who asked this either but People have wanted to see my oil pan and pick up for a while... well here it is. Area that was cut out and enlarged. Modified the area where the pickup drops down Heated and beat out the area where the pickup bolts to the block, It wasn't enough to use a regular bolt I had to use a Allen head and it worked fine And last but not least the pickup. This is 2 rb25 pickups that were cutup and welded together.
RB26powered74zcar
She looks ready to put out once again Are you sticking with the oem fasteners on the mains? I've seen where RIPNZ uses them, so they must be up to the task... Any changes coming with your pan choice?
stony
Yea they are fine with this build. I guess it wouldnt hurt but not right no. No plans on the pan for now.
Careless
just incase anyone wants to buy the calico coatings bearings, they're available from NismoParts, saw them there after I bought my RB30/VG30 ones.
dr_hunt
Ok here is a little update. The motor is rebuilt and should be ready to drop in soon. Here are some pics. The milk crates holding up the car just aren't doing it for me STONY!!!! and by .036 and .038 do you mean .0036 and .0038? Just wondering. Careless
nope. .036 - .038 is right, I think. Every person who has ever built an SBC or an SBF looks at the RB values and wonders if there was a typo.
stony
The milk crates holding up the car just aren't doing it for me STONY!!!! I was wondering when someone would say something. You'll also notice that there are a set of jacks under the front of the car. I had put the crates under there so i could jack the red Z for something. and by .036 and .038 do you mean .0036 and .0038? Just wondering. Nope you read it right and that is on the "loose" side of the specs.
stony
Well she is running again!!!!! good oil pressure no leaks!!! i repositioned the engine angle to get a better drive shaft angle and now the turbo side inter cooler pipe is too short so i will have to make another one of those but besides that all is good. !!!!! I'm going to run it for a while at idle and make sure all the ♥♥♥♥ is out of it ( I cleaned everything real well before reassembly) better safe then sorry. Then change the filter and oil again and off to the Dino for some break-in runs!!!! I found a K&N filter that works with the Rb so i should be good to go there. More to come soon!!! Going to run 15-50 conventional for the break-in then 15-50 full synthetic after the break-in. should make some good power now that i have all the issues worked out. And since i know whats inside now i wont be so hesitant on turning some RPM'S!!!!!

stony
Well having ignition issues now once the motor is heat soaked. made 557rwhp @8500 rpm. Here is the only video i got of it. Another problem i seem to be having is the Vpro is only seeing 11.6 volts in the hi rpm range. alternator is putting out 14volts to the battery ect ect so going to have to figure that out. here is a video.... same as the one posted in the other thread.
