buZy
Pop N Wood, Why not just give it quick 15 min charge once a month instead of taking the chance of fire. That has worked for me three years now.
Dave
Pop N Wood, Easier yet is to buy a light timer and set it to run your regular battery charger for 5 minuts a day.

cygnusx1
I have killed my Optima twice now by accident. It's about three years old. I left the ignition switch on for over a week and the battery had ZERO life left. It took an overnight slow charge to get it to hold 12 volts again. Once it came back, it was as strong as new. I then killed it similarly again, and it came back to life again with apparently no loss in performance.
Careless
Pop N Wood, Easier yet is to buy a light timer and set it to run your regular battery charger for 5 minuts a day. Great Idea... even an hour a day is not over doing it. especially since today it's about -35 Celcius here with the wind chill.
