Found these awsome renderings of a S30 on http://www.auto-otaku.com today.

The creator is Jan Trondsen, a car designer that apperently worked on some interior details on the Nissan GT-R concept car.

Jan Trondsen is a Norwegian name, so I'm trying to find out if he is actually Norwegian :)

Anyone know if he is on this forum?

Anywho... Here are the pics.

My father was born and raised in Lillestrøm (Near Oslo) but I only lived there for a year as a baby though I have returned many times. I want to learn Norwegian but everyone there can tell I'm from California and wants to practice their English!

I have been building a Datsun 510 (Bluebird) for 12 years but took on a '72 S30 that is diverting my attention! Since I build 3D digital data for Honda's Design studio it was natural to build one using the Alias software. It's pretty time consuming and the resulting data is "heavy" as it is actual machinable surface information where as most digital models are made the same way data for video games are made via polygons or millions of triangles stacked together. My data is made up of four sided square surfaces called N.U.R.B.S. as I'm sure veritech-Z knows all about since he uses Alias' sister software Maya.

I have made many changes since as it is ongoing just for fun. But it is NOT perfect as I just used photos and numerical measurements instead of taking the time to laser scan my car and build over what we call a point cloud to be precisely accurate.

Cheers and tusen takk!

j!

NURBs used to be the standard in special effects from what I'm told. The instructor that taught me 3-D made the head for the Mathew Broderick Godzilla movie, and they used all NURBs back then on some super high-end Silicon Graphics hardware. I forget what it stands for, Non Uniform something or other. In video games, we use all polygonal models. Great model, by the way.
