Hi guys; I'm new here and just recently bought a 240 Z V8 car. The guy I bought it from suggested i get involved with our local autocross club. I haven't ever done it before; but from what I checked out online; it looks like alot of fun! Any autocross guys want to chime in? I'd like to find out more.

"... Muhahahahaaa… Look Ron.. Another Victim!!!... "

Ron Tyler and myself have been auto crossing with this group linked below since the late ‘80’s based in Eugene. Other HybridZ members that race there on occasion are Tube80z, Savage42, Burrl, Viperredls1, My father used to as well before he built the Big Block Mopar Z. There is also another group in Medford, they race at the Jackson County sports park pictured below/ It is go kart track. Like a 3/4-7/8 scale road course! WOOHOO!!!

Ice breaker is the first event of the season, held in Eugene, March 2nd this year. Usually a pretty big turnout, always a good time.

Just so happens that there is at least one, if not a few local Z car auto crossers that live in the Bend Redmond area campaigning pretty radical Z cars. Morgan and his son take their auto crossing pretty seriously.

I haven't autocrossed my Z's yet but did a miata for 2 years in csp class and it was the most fun i've ever had behind a wheel. Blows away back roads driving, drag racing, or anything else i've done in a car. Well almost everything:icon54: I wasn't even that competitive since my car wasn't a full blown csp miata but it was still fun as heck. Can't wait untill Z is ready for it. Still need some suspension and brake work before its safe.

I auto-x my LT1 powered Z in the Tri-Cities (Kennewick, Pasco, Richland) Washington. Our local club is named Sand & Sage Sports Car Club (ssscc.org). We average 13 events each season.

I got hooked on auto-x after deciding I'd try it once just to see what the car could do. It's such an adrenaline rush you can't stop shaking for 10 minutes after each run.

One word of advice, get the widest tires you can possibly afford! I found out the hard way.

Heres a YouTube video of the car in action at an event we had in Yakima last season.

Since you're in Bend you should check out the autox club of central oregon. Their events are at the fairgrounds in Redmond.

Go to http://www.autoxclub.org/ for details and schedule.

I will be running a lot of their schedule this year with Paul's old car running with V8 power. Morgan Smith has a 350 chevy in his Z and Dave Kipperman will probably come play at a few events with his new donovan engined car.
