RHCopper
Hey guys, I'm new here. I own a '78 280z Black Pearl. The paint is kind of oxidized on the hood and a little on the roof so I'm going to paint it, I just have one issue.. I've always dreamed of having a Viper blue 280z, but now that I own a black pearl, I feel obligated to keep it black. What should I do? Thanks in advance! Challenger
Paint it whatever you want, who cares about keeping it black. Personally Id go for a dark shadow grey from ford (my car) or spectra blue from toyota (240hokes car). Both look really classy.
rturbo 930
If you want to paint it Viper blue, I say paint it Viper blue.

z or bust
it doesn't take anymore time to change the color as it does to spray the car in black again... Unless you want to do it right and paint all the inside and engine bay the same color.
akeller
Search through this site and other Z sites. There are 100s of pictures of the Z in different colors. Maybe that will help you. Ultimately, it's your call. Al
RHCopper
Thanks guys, i appreciate it. My friend is a professional painter and he has enough Element green left from another car to paint mine. What do you guys think that would look like on a 280? I don't think I've ever seen element green on a Z. I did a search and didn't come up with anything, please don't hate on me if there is a thread on this. Thanks again.
240zwannabe
Unless you want to do it right and paint all the inside and engine bay the same color. with our cars being so old, it should be done anyway...
cockerstar
Element green as in the green on a stock Honda Element? Like this? I love it! I vote that you paint it that green
mgood
I like green too!! Mine is original Datsun 302 green. I have never seen one (in person) the same color.
240zwannabe
oooohhhh man! if your looking into a green definately check out the green on the rx-8 paint code 27C, it's super sexy with black wheels and tinted windows
RHCopper
Just finished painting, did 4 base coats and 2 clear coats. There's a couple imperfections but it hasn't been wet sanded and buffed yet. It's a work in progess
cockerstar
Absolutely LOVE it! Is that the element green you were talking about? Is that the element green from a honda element? Do you have a color code for it?

RHCopper
Ya that's the element green I was talking about, and no it's not from a Honda element; confusing I know. I'm really impressed with how it turned out, considering we painted it in my friends garage. My next purchase is going to be suspension, what would you guys recommend? I'm thinking about tokico illuminas, but they only drop 1" and I think I want a 2" drop. I'm going to be running 16x8 sportmaxx 002's. I notice ground control have up to a 2.5" drop but they're so damn expensive. Thanks guys!
91_4x4runner
Alot of folks have discussed how the Tokico springs actually drop you more than an inch. It's a sticky here: http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=121496
RHCopper
Thanks, that thread helped a lot. I guess I might be looking into some other brands, maybe KYB.
