Challenger
Hey, Ive found a few pictures of the line from the intake side but I couldnt tell where it went on the other side. (my motor was missing it) Also is there a possibility of using some other type of tubing (not the stock part) to run oil to the turbo? Thanks
big-phil
goes to a "T" fitting at the oil pressure sending unit. I would think you could use brake line or something?
junglist
You could get a 1/8" NPT to -4AN adapter and run that from the "T" that Phil mentioned and then get a -4AN line to run to the turbo which will also need an adapter to plug the line into the turbo. You can buy kits on ebay or piece one together yourself and you can go smaller to -3AN also. If you don't have an OEM block fitting I know places sell little "T" block adapters and stuff you can get. So you could get a "T" block to put into the motor and then run your stock oil pressure sender and your turbo oil line off of that. Here is a completed auction showing what you need: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Datsun-240Z-260Z-280Z-ZX-TURBO-OIL-FEED-L28ET-NR_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33742QQihZ016QQitemZ260268028546QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW Example of a feed line "kit" you can get on ebay, although 36" isn't long enough for the Z I don't think: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/_Car-Truck-Parts-Accessories__36-4AN-TURBO-OIL-FEED-INLET-LINE-KIT-CIVIC-ACCORD-CRX_W0QQitemZ110276683631QQadnZCarQ20Q26Q20TruckQ20PartsQ20Q26Q20AccessoriesQQadiZ2865QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item110276683631&_trkparms=39%3A1%7C65%3A1&_trksid=p4506.c0.m245.l1318
mikeatrpi
I'm in the same boat as you, Derek. I was outbid for the stock fitting that junglist posted. The block it 1/8" British standard pipe thread, tapered... BSPT. Not exactly the same as NPT. You can buy adapters between the two. I believe - but don't quote me since I haven't actually tried it yet - that you can thread the stock oil pressure sender into a BSPT female thread, but you can't thread a male NPT fitting into the BSPT block. That means you only need one adapter. Again don't quote me. I am planning to piece together my oil feed using AN lines and adapters, when the time comes. Especially if someone outbid's me again on ebay!! Edit - Proxlamus has a good post in the archives describing how he welded the stock banjo bolt closed then drilled it to .060" to serve as a restrictor. ktm
www.stealthmodeperformance.com has -3 AN SS braided hose, a fitting that has 1/8-bspt male, 1-8/bspt female for the pressure sender, and 2 1/8-npt female ports, -3 AN to 1/8-NPT fitting, etc. I am running that setup on my car. junglist
I'm in the same boat as you, Derek. I was outbid for the stock fitting that junglist posted. Same guy has another stock fitting up for sale (this is not my auction) http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Datsun-240Z-260Z-280Z-ZX-TURBO-OIL-FEED-L28ET-NR_W0QQitemZ260271813814QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item260271813814&_trkparms=39%3A1%7C65%3A10&_trksid=p4506.c0.m245.l1318

Challenger
Yeah I like the purple! Turns out I do have the metal oil line but I dont think it goes the entire way to the turbo and its bent up alittle, will still have to throw something together... Also it seems like the the oil line goes into the knock sensor. Am I just crazy, or is that where it goes.
rvandivort
I got an adapter off of ebay that worked.See My thread on this. The only problem was shortness of the line ,which I solved by using a leftover grease gun outlet tube and a female 1/4to 1/4 adapter.. Any 1/4 npt pipe will work-there are at Home Depot in the plumbing section. I don`t see the bpt and the npt being any problem . I was deluded by this stuff and spent money I didn`t need to. I put a 1/8" npt into the block . How did that work! No problem! What is this banjo stuff? Where did that urban legend come from? The oil line goes by the knock sensor ,but does not have to interfere. Thanks, Roger
