Guest agentc73
Hey guys, I recently bought this killer valve cover from an AMAZING individual. Looks almost identical in style to the modern Karmeari finned valve covers. Could it be one of their first runs? A Chinese copy? Any thoughts or ideas? naviathan
I've seen that valve cover before and I just can't remember where. Nice buy, it's definitely rare...It's going to kill me now that I can't remember where I saw it before.
Guest agentc73
TY, naviathan, Please let me know if you remember anything. Wait till ya see it cleaned up, detailed, polished lettering, and with black wrinkle paint!! P.S. BRAAP. THIS is what I meant by unique, vintage parts. NOT your worn out, old JUNK! Administrators BRAAP Posted September 3, 2008 Administrators Share Posted September 3, 2008 .... P.S. BRAAP. THIS is what I meant by unique, vintage parts. NOT your worn out, old JUNK! Ah C'mon. You don't want the scratched up shift lever?... Come to think of it, all of my Datsun parts are vintage.
zcarnut
Here’s one I got for my 260Z. I’ve also seen one with the 240Z logo (and now we know there’s a 280Z one). The one I had was a poor quality casting. The breather cap was a standard small-block Chevy piece so IMHO, I think it’s a USA made part. I was happy I sold it as I couldn’t use it. It is taller than the stock valve cover so it interfered with my strut bar.
Guest agentc73
Ah C'mon. You don't want the scratched up shift lever?... Come to think of it, all of my Datsun parts are vintage. Maybe. Bend it into a pretzel shape, grind all the chrome off, then I'll buy it. Remember, send it by way of Australia first! Mine isn't a very great casting, either. I have to have a few shallow holes filled in by a welder, but I don't care. Still very cool and different, IMHO. So, where the heck did these covers come from? How old are they? The resemblance to the Kameari cover is uncanny. Here's the Karmeari cover: $ 575 + shipping? OUCH! I'll take mine!

Guest agentc73
Is it just me, or does red look killer on S30 Z's?
Guest 280ZForce
Does look close to the Kameari cover but lacks a few finer details they have. Nice piece though. Is it just me, or does red look killer on S30 Z's? And yes, red is a color on the s30... red and black in particular too.

rayaapp2
Clifford from back in the day. They use to make valve covers. They use to make intake and exhaust manifolds to. Not for sure though. They use to put their Name in big capital letters on everything. Ray
Guest Aalpha
Can't find "Clifford" on it anywhere.
HS30-H
First ones were originally made and sold by Kakimoto Racing in Japan, I believe. Some explanation here: http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=20795 Posts #28, #41 & #44 of that thread have comparison pics. So "Banned user" agentc73 is now Aalpha?
