utvolman99
Hey guys, I am currently looking for a z for transformation. One thing that I worry about is fitting in the car. Im 6'3" tall! Does anyone else have any problems. I had a 83ZX with tee tops and I fit just fine. How much smaller is the Z than the ZX? Thanks for your help! denny411
I`m just over 6' and 220 lbs and I`ve got plenty of room. there is alot of leg room and the seat goes back pretty far.you`ll have to be careful of what seats you use if you change them.If they sit higher you`ll have aproblem with head room
Oltmann
I'm 6'3 too. The Z has the plenty of legroom, I can back the seat up until I can't even touch the firewall. I seem to recall a thread like this in the past, and almost a majority of the members were 6-footers. I think maybe the Japanese thought Americans were a race of giants back in the late 60s and designed for an average height of 6'0.
V8ZRACER260Z
Hey Buddy I'm 6'3" also and an early Z car has more than enough room for me. That was one of the things that attracted me to them 30 years ago! I perfer the early body styles anyway. Have fun shopping and let us know when your ready to increase the Horsepower! jimzdat
Well, I'm 6'8", and I can fit into a 2 seater Z, but my head rubs the headliner a little--all 4 of my Zs have been 2+2 models, so there is a little more headroom--legroom is pretty much the same, I prefer the extra clearance that can be obtained by using a aftermarket steering wheel, but it ain't too bad with the stocker either. Mike C
Hey, a real reason for 2+2! Actually, there is a lot of room in the Z if you keep the stock seats. They got back further and are lower than anything else I have seen. Good luck!

Dp351zcar
I'm 5 10" and over 40 should I feel inferior? Or is that why I want about 500hp? Am I guilty of being what I accuse the people who buy bus sized SUV or have jacked up trucks of? I say those people are compensating for a lack of something. Brains, ideals, size of tool, I don't know but it has to be something but I didn't I was guilty. Something to think about.
DavyZ
Yeah, that would make me feel inferior...NOT! I'm 6'2" and am evenly proportioned such that fitting in the early Z is no big deal--I even have room to spare Davy
fl327
im over six feet tall and i fit good in a z, except it looks like the car was built around me! also have to sit with the seat a little bit forward to get leverage to disengage the clutch! Guest Drewz
I am at 6'4" and not shrinking and weigh in at , shut up Pete, 260lbs and am comfortable enough to cruise all night long in it with the old seats. Redoing them in leather will make them more comfortable for me!!
Guest zthang43
I am 6'1" and no probs. My friend's dad though is about 6'3" and an easy 350-375 lbs. He is comfortable in the car, but has a hard time getting out because his knees hurt. I have another friend that is about 6'6", 350#, and he had no problem getting in and out of the car, and was impressed with the legroom and headroom. I guess age probably makes a big difference in whether the car is comfy or not.
utvolman99
Hey thanks guys! That is what I thought. I loved my ZX for the leg room. I could put my feet past the peddles and not touch the firewall! I am going to step up measures to find my Z! Thanks again
GrayZee
I am amazed at how many 6+ footers we have here, I guess it's because the Z is a appealing car to the tall! and no, I don't feel inferior.. cuz I am over 6 feet too but I still have to move the seat up a notch or two to be able to push the clutch all the way in.
