dirty white boy Posted January 5, 2010 Author Share Posted January 5, 2010 so everyone is pretty sure it's a fidanza? here is the back side of it. i couldn't get the pic to load before. i can get it pretty cheap but i don't know if it needs resurfacing. what's the average price to get it resurfaced and balanced with the pressure-plate? MAG58 Posted January 5, 2010 Share Posted January 5, 2010 I'm pretty sure it's not a Fidanza. However, is the Pressure plate mounting points located above the friction surface, ala ze 'chermans? If so, that means that, afaik, none of the standard datsun pressure plates or clutch disks will work with it. At least not stock anyway. A step will sometimes be machined into what would normaly be a flat flywheel to cheat old pressure plates, I'm pretty sure all of the flywheels I did for classic Datsun went out with a .025" - .030" step in them. There were various profiles from different people who did this ... each claiming their profile was superior. sticky280zx Posted January 16, 2010 Share Posted January 16, 2010 Also i just want to say....$20-25 to ship to them, $160 for machining, and $20-25 back to you....thats $200+ for 2/3 of the original weight Then you have fidanza for about $300 thats 2/5 of the original weight and has the options of replacing the friction surface and the starter ring gear. Makes more sense to me to buy new than pay 2/3 for an old part that wasnt designed at 16# but rather coaxed to be on the diet via lathe.
