72240Z
WOW 82BlackNAGoldzx that looks even worse than mine. I haven't worked on the Z in a while but I may work on it tomorrow. If I do I will post some more pix. ModernS30 My friend Kieth did most of the work I just cut parts off and cleaned things.
nosebleedZ
WOW! Compliments to you & Kieth for doing it right. True craftsmanship is falling away with each generation it seems, unfortunately. My 79 was so badly cancered when I got it, I could look in the rear view mirror & see the road behind the car, through the 14" rust hole in the hatch, passenger frame rail was so bad, I had a 300 lb friend that got in the car & stepped through, YES through the floor! 16 months of body work & paint work will make you love or hate your car. Good to see you showin' yours some love.......
Wilson_WWSC
I like how you can fix rust with one picture. "Firewall gone" "Firewall fixed"
72240Z
Scraped the undercoating off one wheel well. Holes drilled for new frame rails and seat bracket installed. New $18 hatch strut installed.
Sparks280zt
You sir have validated the old saying: "27 pair of vise grips can fix anything!" Nicely done.
rturbo 930
This thread makes me feel bad about not wanting to fix my 240z which has no where near as much rust. Good job on the rust repair. Edited April 4, 2010 by rturbo

72240Z
Frame rails welded in. Time to start the other side.
cruceno21
Wow man... my rust isn't nearly as bad so this gives me hope. I need the driver side frame rail replaced and thats about it (for now). I actually have not been able to find someone willing to weld it for me. Craftsmanship like this is gone these days...
AlexPie
very impressive! keep up the good work I really don't like welding the really thin metal but i know I'm gonna need to do some patch work on my Z
