Super Rare Distributor Cap?

Recommended Posts

It's an aftermarket part--you got took by a lying salesman.

They are commonly available and the manufacturer "Dai Ichi" (er... "#1") manufactured them for NGK who also had a set of translucent wires available.

In America it may be considered 'rare', but so is a Borgward Station Wagon. It doesn't mean it's worth anything extra, though!

I just bought a clear distributor cap i was told that this is one of the rarest distributor cap available? He told me that it's from the Datsun dealer back in the day. Does anyone have any info on the distributor cap?

The most important question is....How much did you pay for it?

I just picked up a set of the translucent wires. Sitting on an engine at the Z Barn. $15.

Do they actually let you see a pulse in the wire? I dont see how that works...

on some TV chopper show they used colored florescent bulbs from cap to plug.

How much would that be to replace? Might look cool on my Z B)

Well, it doesn't work. At least not unless there is some other compote that releases energy when and electric current hits it, like neon or argon gas. Even then, I think the whole wire would light up and not a moving pulse.
