  1. Interesting. Is it electric? or does the compressor run off of the engine? What parts did you reuse off of your Z?
  2. Are you talking about the fuel filter? I might have one. Can you post a pic so I know what I'm looking for?
  3. So to ensure that the frame that I'm building will be mounted straight, I came up with this drawing. The areas with the most structure, is the area under the floor. I thought a single piece of C channel wouldn't be the most rigid, So I drew it that way. any suggestions, before I start buying materials? I was thinking 1 inche square tubing and the main part that attaches to the front lower part of the frame would be 2 1/2 inche heavy gauge square tubing cut in half. The outer most part would be attaches to the inner most side of the rockers right against the seam welds. Thought I present this before I go out and try to build it and find out that I did something stupid. I know that building a cage is ideal, but I and short on time, tools, and supplies. I might build a cage that attaches to this in the future (keep that in mind when making suggestions so that I may add some things now to make putting a cage in easier, later). Thanks
  4. What I mean is they have acrylic or enamel. Oil or water base.
  5. Hate to bring up an really really old thread, but i need to know what type of rustoleum to buy.
  6. I agree. unless you use shorter con rods to lower compression. Actually, lowering the compression on KAs is ideal on a turbo application. What fuel management is everybody running with the KA-T?
  7. Sigh. I just might as well try to carb it then. Think I'll have spark issues with it? Inless someone has a harness and ecm.
  8. thats how my stock ones look, but I think thats because they're old and I need to replace them. I think it should correct when the suspension is compressed.
  9. Sweet. I take it then that they will use the bank info from when taxes were filed, correct?
  10. I would like to know that as well. an When we might be getting it.
  11. KA its handled by the ECM. thus internal coil in the dizzy as well as internal CAS (which I don't have the connectors to). explained above. If its batch injector firing then why is this even needed? it would be the same as running it on a single cylinder and just needs the length of time between each spark event to coordinate fuel curve. Just want have it running untill I can source a decent UNMODIFIED wiring harness and ECM. They way I look at it, the whole EFI system on a L28 is to supplement for a carburetor, with very little sensors to run.
  12. I would get an estimate on parts/repair as well from 2 or 3 different sources, as a secondary offer, if they can't/won't go the route of finding a replacement. A fender and tie rod don't cost that much (if you can find them:p)
  13. Thanks constable. How so? I just need it to run. Nothing performance oriented. Only issue that I see that might be an issue is spark dwell. All it needs is air, fuel, spark and oil, right?
  14. I have a question on the stock EFI system. Is injector firing on these batch or sequential? Reason I (I know, not L6 engine) want to wire a KA24DE to the stock 280Z efi system, because its what I have, and I just want to get it running. For the dizzy, I tapped the and added a terminal for the coil so I can just totally bypass the circuitry (I know, not advance/retard, I'll deal with it later), so I"ll have to deal with spark separately from the EFI system. If The stock EFI is sequential, would I be able to due batch firing by connecting all the wires together respectedly? It does fire by timing of a spark event, correct? Any other suggestions? Issues that might arise? Admins, feel free to move this to the appropriate sub thread, if needed.
  15. haha. yeah. Didn't realise that i cut up half the tunnel untill I was finished. I still have all the pieces just is case. Haven't cut the rest of it because I'me using it as somewhat of a refference. I'm building the front off of the car and am going to graph it on when everything else is taken care of.
  16. My waging war on rust. Kinda went a little overboard Frame was crooked anyways so I decided to cut it off This is where I got a little overboard
  17. I just posted it, because I thought it was humorous.
  18. The good news is that they are lifting the requirement to IM inspection, come 2009. Reason is air quality is cleaner than it was some odd years ago. How I found out is my father got is getting promoted to head journey mechanic. For this position, one of the qualifications needed was a IM inspection license, but because of the lift my father's boss suggested that he interview for the position. WOOT for the great white north .
  19. Also adjust dizzyso you retard timing a little, as well as clean the harness connection to the dizzy.
  20. Posting what vid you speak of would help .
  21. Found this browsing the interweb. Not what you expect http://forums.forzamotorsport.net/forums/thread/1289838.aspx
  22. I also have a question on this, but the other way around. KA+ L28 5speed. Reason= Its what I have. Question: On a L28+ KA tranny swap, whats the distance needed to be milled or adapter plate/spacer for the bell housing? So I can space or mill accordingly for my odd combo.
  23. Thats not a preview. Thats off another show on speed. Its just on there because he's selected as one of the presenters as well as Faust. I think GEARS won't have the same appeal as top gear because May, Hammond, and Clarkson don't know what they're doing as far as building anything.
  24. I have to agree. I thought that having such blocky flares would make it look weird, but it seems to work.
