Thanks. 2" square from Home Depot. I cut slits and bent it, then tack welded it. I trimmed it but the curve is too sharp, so I'm going to cut more slits and bend it more outward. For finish. I think I'm just going to body fill it and shape its because I'm going to paint it black anyways. Shipping up here is stupid expensive, so I have to make most of my stuff. But some things I do buy regardless of shipping because of the debate of building difficulty to paying for the work. Body panels, I try to fab myself, just to try. That and because tabco is always back ordered when I call.

Do you mean flux core? Its a different process. MIG is more like a wire fed TIG process, in that it uses a innert shielding gas instead of flux that splatters. But yes, I would advise against it, or ask your landlord to see if its ok. You never know. Most people are more appreciative when you ask first, instead of just going at it. Some may be antsy because of the tank for the gas, even though its inert.

millermatic SP135(plus). But if your just doing it as a hobby, I suggest just buying a flux core unit off of craigslist. Got mine for $75. Only problem I have is splatter, so I just hit it with a grinder after. Cage: I suggest the MIG. its hard to get at it with a grinder with fluxcore.

its heavy, and if not grinded down, the texture will grab dirt. it is durable, but the other downside to that is, you can't see if is rusting from the bottom. just pointing some things out.

they aren't flares. the lip is rounded. Just maybe a 1/2 wider than stock.

I found a parts car at a storage place and am trying to see if I can get the fenders. They appear to be fiberglass and don't look like the stock design. they are rounder and flaired slightly (maybe 1/2 inche). Just wanted to know who made them. Sorry I didn't have my camera with me when I was looking at them. I'll try to take some later if they will let me. BTW the chassis has no qtr panels and is under a raggedy tarp, has a 280z hood (vents, and all dented up), but my guess is that its a 240z and the floors are gone. Think it would be good to get the whole thing if I can get the title? I want to be smog exempt

Tippmanns are pretty much bulletproof. I ran over one and only a few scratches. Not too big of a fan of the manual non-electric firing systems, but just my prefference. I suggest the Ion, but first upgrade you should get is to replace the trigger.

glass is crap too. The bulbs will heat up the glass and at rainy nights, it will cause the water to evaporate. Caking dirt and crap on the glass. As soon as you try to wipe them (when hot and spaying them with a water bottle) ... crack. Stay away.

Got offered a sponsorship for the Z. Th thing is, it was one of those online things that I saw on myspace adverts. They want a $94 application fee, but I supposedly get $5000. Thing just nags me saying that this is one of those scams. Not sure whether to take this offer. With the $5000, I will have discount to many auto parts stores and doesn't count paint. With that I can finally finish my car (for the most part). I just don't want to get screwed out of $100. Any thoughts?

Have the same thing up here, kinda. Its 65% vis on the front door windows and 35% on the rear. The way around this is to make friends with some used car salesman that deal with modified stuff. I Got a med form for something like having a medical condition. Just need to have any doctor sign it. Then if a cop pulls you over and charges you for the tint, just show him the form.

Mine wasn't liability, but was an estimate under my fathers insurence forgot to mention that. I've read somewhere that salvaging a "totaled" status car, the insurence policy is higher, correct? edit: not policy, sorry. Ment to say premiums.

I've had a estimate for my 78 and came out to be $60 every month. I haven't bought a policy yet so it might be cheaper and once I turn 25 insurence will be even cheaper . I haven't had it apraised yet so who knows.
