  1. I don't know much about sbc and blowers, but I know you can get a blower form ebay for cheap if you look for on from a Merc Kompressor. I think its a eaton M90 blower. Its been a while since I last looks for one. BTW nice celica.

  3. If you have the same luck as me. Check the floors, tap it with a screw driver towards the front and where the seat supports are. Then pop off the fenders to make sure you don't find any surprises like frame being crooked or dirt between the frame and the fender, causing water to rust the frame, as well as the battery area for rust. Besides that, just some minor fitting/trimming and primer bondo and paint.

  5. Are you running spacers on your wheels? That don't look like the stoke 0 offset, inless you are using junk spares for fab work.
  6. Orbital sander with 60 grit and a light touch will do wonders. You're going to have to go over it again to get the hard to reach areas, but it'll go a lot faster.

  9. thats strange. With most of FB parts i've seen. they were pre bondo'd (No bondo). minor corrections were up to the customers.

  11. With almost any fiberglass piece you're gonna have to have some fitment issues, but sounds like you need to do a little more than that. any pics? Might want to call and see what they have to say.

  13. As the title says. How would you "more experienced" people think about this turbo on a 2.4L engine? I can get my hands on one for about $200, and am planning on putting on my KA24DE. I want some input before I throw down some cash. Thanks in adavance Mike
  14. I would like to see a v design so you can put it right against the grille to help with wind deflection.
  15. I use this. You can get it from walmart at the auto section. Make sure you get the one with the grey lable and not the black label. The black one is suppose to be paint, but it just sucks to work with. THe stuff is just phosphoric acid (its in cola) and you just have to brush it on , wait and wipe and rinse. I use it for spots that I don't want to grind. an example on my busted bumper that I scrapped.
  16. As the title says, I need a tach and electric speedo that I can order online. I converted my mechanical speedo gear on the tranny to a electric sender. I did this by taking the end of the speedo cable and leaving about 1/2" to an 1" of the cable on, then taking a "universal mechanical speedo cable kit" (I think it was GM) and just using the end piece I crimped it onto the nissan piece. then I used a 240sx sender. i took off the C pin that holds the gear on the sender and took it off. When you take it off , you will see a 3" square pin the driver the sender from the gear. the I put the piece that hold the datsun cable in and screwed that back on the gear receiver and forced the SX sender into that piece, then epoxied. Sorry I don't have pics, I'm in another country right now. So I need a new electric speedo now. I would like one with matching tach for cheap. Any suggestions?
  17. I used some epoxy. I mixed it and put it on, then put a little baking soda on it and some saran wrap and then tried to even it out with the saran wrap.
  18. Height isn't an issue with me (Wow, being short is a good thing for once ) 5'6". You can always sell them on craigslist for like $600 . I think there is a guy up here thats trying to get rid of a pair for that much (same JCW seat). Someone actually bought them . You can always add some structural members under the floor.
  19. I don't think 8lbs is worth all that work. Winder why the 240z door is so light an the 280z door so heavy, even with the beam removed. Well I moved on to removing the drip rails. Welding on that is a PITA. Its so thin, I'm afraid of burning through it. Word of advise: Used a piece of aluminum or copper that you can get flush behind there, so you have some insurance of not burning through and torch the hell out of the leaded area. You'll get cleaner welds and you can always lead load it later.
  20. I agree. People don't realize in fore sight that there are other cost involve other than just mpg and the cost of the car.

  23. This thread reminds me of Jeremy Clarksin's way of going deer hunting. I can't find teh clip on youtube. if someone that knows what I'm talking about post the clip, so others can laugh also
  24. idk either. See if theres a vacuum leak somewhere. Even the 280zx didn't have a govener IIRC. they just had teh speedos that stopped at 85. Did this just started happening? Whats your setup?
