  1. Atleast you won't slip if you walk on it
  2. Supports ~350hp, not an exceptionally big turbo. This is what I remember about it. I have a good upgrade for the to4b that I recently did for a gentleman with an 88300zxt se. It flows 54lbs/min and he made 350hp/396ft-lbs @ wheels with 15psi of boost.
  3. DO NOT get a Powermaster Turbo. You will be crying when you only saved $50 and you blow the turbo. The parts are not interchangable between Garrett/Turbonetics. I can sell you a turbo better than that at a comparable price. This will be a BRAND NEW Garrett turbo. Shoot me an e-mail if interested. turbo@speedshopthagard.com
  4. Just undo the 6 bolts that hold on the compressor housing and take it off. You can then safely weld it.
  5. I sent you an e-mail Paypal amount is $635 shipped turbo@speedshopthagard.com I only need to weld on the mounting bungs to the top/bottom of the core so you have something to mount your bracket to. Monday is a holiday and the hurricane is about to slam us this weekend. I will probably be able to ship it on Wednesday.
  6. I have 3 that are sold and the cost was $600. The cores retail for $799 alone. The 3.5" version supports 900hp and the 4.5" version supports 1100hp. Garrett pricing just went up so I don't know how much the core will cost me in the future. It may add another $100 to the cost. However, that is still a great.
  7. Joel, you can see your 4.5" thick endtanks in the background. It appears it will fit well, but cannot say it will clear the shocks for the 75-78 front bumper . The inlet/outlet center-to-center measurement is 31.625" and lines up exactly with the large holes in the radiator support crossmember.
  8. I am doing a custom intake for JTaylor's RB25DET if he ever gets off his rear and ships me the intake runners . What is a V-mount intercooler?
  9. Well, I think I can beat the 134mph, but not too sure about the 10.08 on the nitto drags.
  10. The results are in with the new powerglide. 451hp/509ft-lbs@wheels Boost was set to 28psi and I was NOT running the nitrous. The car is running pig rich so I suspect it will gain another 40-50hp@wheels with tuning. I am pleased considering this is using an auto tranny which typically read lower than stick cars on the dyno. The last time I dynoed the car it read 311hp@wheels and ran 129.6mph in the 1/4 the following day . Unfortunately, I did not have my nitrous bottle back from being filled. I will run the car in two weeks after I get the transbrake hooked up and new front tires. Anyway, not too bad considering the head only flows 200cfm on the intake ports
  11. The bird is the word The cores are at my buddies shop right now and should be done by wednesday. I will contact you and send pics when complete.
  12. You should say motor as the car gets about a 5.5 on a scale of 1-10. However, when I took my car out last night(all damn dirty) a guy at the gas station pulled up and said he really liked my car. Anyway, I have no doubt I will now get the 10sec timeslip with the drag radials.
  13. Here are the details. My swap works great and I am happy
  14. Yep, powerglide swap complete and 1st testdrive today before the big storm hits. 25psi and 40mph lights the nitto drag radials. Car got a little sideways Never did that before with the old tranny Oh yea...I am excited
  15. I have all the stuff for the swap if you are interested.
  16. Update Russ ran a trial fit of the pan and it fits in his setup. Clearance between pan and front crossmember is about .5". He did state the pan had to be put into place once the motor was in the car. No way to get it in if you are putting in engine/trans as one because of the angle required. Also, it will be a good idea to purchase the mounts from Brad D to set the motor back as far as possible so you have the proper pan clearance. He will be making the oil pickup and I will duplicate them along with a baffling system.
  17. I follow what you were saying regarding you timing curve. I think everyone has hit the nail on the head, not enough boost. Larger turbo's need to see more boost to hit their sweet spot. I will try to stay away from an sexual anologies here.
  18. Jason, I was a bit confused regarding your timing map. Here is a timing map I used to run. It is aggressive under boost so you may want to back it down 3-4 degrees. However, it gives you a good idea of how to formulate a timing curve.
  19. Not really, the pricing on Garrett cores is all pretty standard. I have one of two costs for the cores and the difference is rather minimal. Whether it is a large core or small core my cost is almost the same.
  20. As you may know I am a Garrett Dealer. Sick of the damn prices of Spearco and the 8week wait on cores. I will be making 5 custom intercoolers for the early 70-78 Z car. I will initially make 2 to get feedback and have already sold one to John T for his RB25 powered 280Z. These use Garrett GT cores with core dimension of 24"(wide)x12"(tall)x3.5"(thick) and they support 900hp. The tanks will be built with the inlet/outlet to your size specs and directly facing the 2 holes at the top of the front crossmember. These cores are cross flow and are the highly efficient tube/fin design. Price will be $600 until the core prices go up. This price includes the fabrication of the end tanks. I will post a pic of what I mean in the morning. Please let me know if you would like the other intercooler for your setup. BTW, Joel S purchased the 4.5" thick version of this core for his RB26 powered 260Z. His core supports 1100hp. The 4.5" cores gives it that badboy skyline feel
  21. Wow, I started to feel bad about not making more intake manifolds And then I got over it
  22. The intake has been sold and I will not be making more. Pain in the rear with little monetary reward for $300. I did it mainly to help out some Z folks with aftermarket support. It did not have air hons, but it still out flows the stock manifold and it out flowed a fully modified N42 intake manifold. It sucks when folks tell me it is not worth $300. So my response is go and have Hogan's make you at custom intake for $1300.
  23. Not making any more of these intakes http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7913513680
