Every race over the last few years seemed to pile increasing responsibilities. Now that the engineers found out I'm going to school to get a M.E. degree, its going to be even worse, not to mention the team is now the chosen Porsche team for co-development of the 997 chassis. We'll have all those funny German speaking people hanging around You going to the Long Beach race John?

By all means, let me know. There's some cool stuff going on.

A Porsche team I've been working on and off for over the last few years has asked me to come back for the whole ALMS season this year. Its going to be exciting with all the new teams, including Rahal Letterman Racing, Acura's P2 powered cars, and the new Dyson Porsche prototype. Dont' forget the awesome Audi R10 that may be getting some competition from Puegeot's new diesel closed cockpit P1 racer. Its going to be a 12 race year with a few races with IRL and Champ Car, including the Long Beach street race. If anyone will be anywhere near the races come and see them. I'll be working and might have a sec to give you a quick tour of the trucks or the like. I just checked the ALMS website and the Corvette GT1 cars are on board for the season.

I can't wait to try it out, but I want to do some testing first. We're doing it to my brother's car as soon as it gets back from the body shop. Unfortunately its not very warm at the moment, so it will be tough to get temperature readings. I'm going to go get an SPL meter and do some testing stock with full interior and then no interior (except for seats). Then do the same thing again with a full coating. I'm hoping if I get lucky, I'll get a whole day of sun for a few days and I can do some pyrometer tests too. From what I've heard, the stuff is supposed to work, but I really want to get some hard evidence.

Lizardskin ceramic insulative and sound control coatings with spray gun kit.

Any info on the specifics? I could not find anything on the internet. Thanks for letting me know they had them there though.

Did you happen to browse by Stoptech's area? I've heard rumors that they were supposed to be showing a new metal matrix composite rotor at SEMA.

Get the Cummins (Dodge)...the motors are far better than the Chevy or the Ford.

We are 2.41 a gallon (87) at Chevron here, right next to my house in the Bay Area. I'm just wondering how long its going to last for.

EATON M112 Super Charger for SBC….. BRAAP project car…
Moridin replied to BRAAP's topic in Gen I & II Chevy V8 Tech Board
Get that thing ported when you have the chance. They really scream on the 03/04 Cobras when its done. http://www.stiegemeier.com/ There is also a good pulley ratio chart for supercharger speed and boost levels on the Cobras. Should get you in the ball park And don't forget to take advantage of the awesome air to water intercooler off the Cobras if you can. They work extremely well, but you'll have to route a heat exchanger, pump, and lines. I'd take a serious look at how its done on the Fords and Jags. -
More and more I've been wearing my full face helmet on my mountain bike even when riding around town. I know its saved my face a few times. Sorry to hear about the jaw. Hopefully, you have a quick recovery.

Those cars would be soooo much faster with real race rubber. Fun to watch though. I guess I'm not a huge blabbering idiot: http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=113036 -
I'm pretty sure we won't see the Skyline here...but the GT-R. Of course, at first it seems that I'm purely spouting symantics, but in actualitly, the GT-R is supposed to be an entirely different car from the Skyline (which we already have...the G35). As for the subject of this thread, you really need a halo car if you're racing. Toyota races in various forms of motorsports and the most exciting thing I've seen them come out with lately is the hybrid Highlander (which is pretty quick to 60MPH). Toyota just needs something new and exciting. It will be nice to see them bring out a new Supra. I hope they keep the weight down and make it a fun car to drive. Couple that with Toyota reliability and a price that isn't outrageous, and they should have a winner.

It seems the info from my source is holding up pretty well: http://www.autoweek.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20061005/FREE/61004002/1024

Check A/F Ratio with 02 Sensor and Multimeter?
Moridin replied to 280zwitha383's topic in Non Tech Board
I would say spend the money and get the wideband. How much is a few hundred bucks compared to a motor rebuild? -
Oh, before I forget, did anyone see the 997 GT3 RSR that came out of one of our trucks?

We just kept having problems. Had a string of bad luck on the 45 car with a shifter problem and then getting tagged by the stupid prototypes. Anytime one of the P1 or P2 cars comes near ours, I always get worried (with the exception of the Audi's, the don't seem to hit anyone else). I was the one always cleaning the cars. I guess I should have posted a picture of myself or asked when anyone was going to stop by. We are encouraged to talk to the fans when we get a chance. That's what is so nice about the series, everyone can come by, see the cars while they're being worked on, and chat it up with some of the crew members and such. Laguna is coming up in two weeks. Going to be a big battle in GT2 between the Ferraris, White Lightning, and Flying Lizard for the team and driver championships.

Anyone go? It was a hell of a work weekend for me...well isn't quite over yet as we have to pack up tomorrow. Didn't quite turn out as I would like it to, but it was my first long race (over 2 hours and 45 min). Fun, but smelly. Those fire suits sure do get nasty by the end of the day. I can't imagine what its like after 24 hours.

Sweet. I run a BAP (Boost-A-Pump) on an 03 Cobra. Works well. I'm glad to here that they are staying returnless. There is going to be a lot of learning going on with that fuel system.
-
What fuel pumps are they going to run with and is it still returnless?

New word on the new motor...in excess of 1400RWHP with a 5.8L and some extras.

You can also check out IMVfilms.com to download there. They have the pre-turbo version too.

We have 5 Honda Civics at my house...yup 5. One is my 91 hatch turbo track car...non-running of course...another is my brother's EG with a B18 swap from a GSR (fun, reliable, and quick), a super clean EG that looked like it just came off the showroom floor for my sister to drive, another 91 hatch that I putt around in, and my dad's hybrid that he can use to commute in the carpool lane. The cars may not be super fast, but they are reliable as all get out and are fun enough to drive all the time. I have fun taching out the 91 Si and not getting in trouble. Its just not fast enough to exceed the speed limit without quite a bit of effort. For the 93, I'd do some fresh Bilsteins with stock springs and shift linkage bushings. It'll make the car that much more fun without sacrificing anything. Another thing to think about is window tinting. Makes the tin can much more comfortable on the hot days. They tend to hold a lot of heat in for some reason.

Good call on the 997 TT. Its the best go-fast, 4 season car that anyone could ever hope to own. I may able to get parts for you from PMNA if you're interested.
