I was thinking 6 coil drivers and 6 regular cylindrical coils are very cool. Also, I thought I need a stack of MSD6ALs. I didn't do it because the setup is too pricey just for a joke.
I ended up to put Z32 coils.

For comparison, pic of normal pump. The tap showing is 1/2 NPT.
JAMIE T,
I measured ID of two weld bangs.
-10 AN: 1/2"
-12 AN: 5/8"
In my last post, I put wrong numbers.
I found pics of external pick-ups.
Thank you for your suggestion. I agree with you 95%. I noticed that ID of Earl's -10 AN fitting is 5/8" but ID of its hose is smaller. Sharp edge of the fitting seems to cut into the hose wall. Aeroquip, XRP and Goodridge may have gotten different design.

Good info but I think some dimensions may be wrong.
"B" points are under the engine mounts.
My measurement is 492 mm, instead of 452.4.
Please post here if you find false value on the drawing.
Thanks.

I extracted the internal of speedmeter. AIM speed sensor is put on the internal frame. it senses lotating magnet. Right front is DENSO speed sensor. It is direct bolt-on S30 to Z31 5-speed. some electrical knowledge and a couple of resistors are needed to work with AIM logger. It can be connected with Autometer.
It isn't direct bolt on. Some meat of rack was removed under the bracket. All Imprezza rack can be used. Mine came from 5-door. STIs have quicker ratio racks.
That's exactly I was thinking, but I'll weld a -12 AN fitting and machine the backside to remove distortion caused by heat.
I think ID of 3/8NPT adaptor is too small and there isn't enough meat for 1/2NPT tapping.

pop N Wood,
Wasn't the joint of the minivan actually two u-joints combined?
fastzcars,
Mine is on the way to RHD conversion. You can see the subaru rack fits under the 'unmodified' 240z crossmember bracket.

I've got Subaru rack. I cut 240z crossmember at the driver side of engine mount which interferes with the steering shaft and the area below the pinion gear. Then I dremeled the drivers side of rack until it fit under the 240z crossmember bracket. I did it Sunday afternoon, easy job. Thanks guys!
Then I need some advices:
I have to make attatched Subaru rack between steering column. It can be done easily but I got an idea. The power steering rack has higher inclination angle toward outside at the steering shaft than that of 240z. So I think a pair of universal joints (or more) should be located with proper spacing between them to avoid slow-fast valocity at the rack. Am I too nervous? Do you guys with power rack have any experience in this area?

My tank will be in the trunk, thank you for the input.
I'm going to use single -16AN hose for scavenge and -12AN for suction to pump. My pump is 3-stage so two scavenge lines will be combined near the pump.
