Tell me I'm not the only one who watches COPS and wonders what the smart criminals are getting away with. It's easy to catch the dumb ones, but what about the smart ones. How many bank robberies a day are there in metro LA?

Good lord almighty, what about all of the hot rods that aren't riced out Honda's etc? California was someplace I thought it would be fun to own a modified car, lots of great highways, the coast, the mountains, the desert. That video makes it sound more like the Democratic Peoples Republic of Kalifornia (DPRK) than anything else. You guys have a wealth of my sympathy.

I like the current GTO, I'm glad GM built it and I'm glad they aren't going to tank it. I just don't want to have to put gas in it.

5 mph bumpers as opposed to the 0 mph bumpers on earlier Z's, an intermittent switch on the wipers to add a few differences.

Great street racing scenes, just not enough of them. I can believe the Japanese would take a masculine themed movie and effeminate(?) it. Great to see an S30 as the centerpiece vehicle. (I couldn't believe how bright the Z's headlights seemed to be...funny observation)

Maybe starting out with a list of places you know you won't be willing to move to will help move the process along. What kind of cost of living are you willing to absorb? I know it ain't cheap in Seattle but if you've owned your house there awhile then you may have beaten the bubble. Rumor has it the housing bubble will burst in the next 6-12 months which may help your decision too.

You've got your foot in the door so take it all one step at a time. I knew two guys with slots to go to UPT who washed out of OTS because they couldn't hack the training, which was tedious but not difficult. Get in shape before you go or the academics plus chasing the PT test score will simply put more stress on you and it's all about managing the stress. Good luck

I'm hoping it's only the shift fork or something that can easily be fixed, but I'm prepping for the worst if the guy says I can repair your existing transmission for X, or you can get a rebuilt one for less. I've never been in this situation before and want to know my options, pros and cons. If it is the transmission and it comes out, it'll give me a chance to figure out what it came out of too.

I may have the opportunity to get a rebuilt transmission and I'm curious whether or not I should shoot for a Z or a ZX (non T-5) transmission if they're both the same cost. The 5-speed I've got now sh*t the bed and rolled in it. I don't know what it came out of.

I wasn't thinking of it for myself, I'm a N/A purist for now. I was curious because it's rare to see TT hardware for an L-series engine and even rarer to see one in Japan. I wouldn't mind getting my hands on one of those Cartech triples/turbo setups, but it'd be a low priority with everything else that needs to be done to my car.

I've had similar problems and ended up replacing all of my vacuum hoses.
