  1. Toyota store is in the mall at Odaiba park. Odaiba park is close to Tokyo Big site, right across the Rainbow bridge from Tokyo proper. Tokyo Tower would be another great place to see the city from.
  2. Mmmmm...looks like the stock radio is still there! Barring any rust nightmare, I think you got agreat deal!

I've seen that car at SEZshootouts and was that shot taken at Robins AFB? Where in GA are you from?
  4. Is that a better block choice than the F54?
  5. If you go to Google Earth and do a search for Tomisato Japan one of the options that pops up is to go to where RE Amemiya is located near Narita, it's only about 10-15 minutes away. Once you locate it, click on it and an option to do a "Tour of Japan for automotive enthusiasts" pops up. Click that and about 100 locations pop up throughout Japan of racetracks, tuner garages and salvage yards.
  6. Great write-up by BRAAP on L-series cylinder heads. Might help get you pointed in the right direction if you haven't read it yet. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=104420
  7. I'm leaving Sunday to go to the Deid for 60...home for 90, gone for 60 for two years straight. The tax free has funded more than a few projects. The Z is sitting in John Williams' garage right now running up a bill that can only be paid with tax free.
  8. I may be in the same boat, compression test had 160-175 across the board with coolant in the #3, I'm praying it's the headgasket. BTW, I'm looking for options besides an N47 if the current head is toast.
  9. That engine is a piece of artwork, I can't wait to see pictures of it in the car.
  10. Go down to Roppongi and don't act like a drunken American, that will help your appeal to some of the local girls. You can walk from there to Tokyo Tower, you'll go right by the Russian embassy! Go down to Akihabara, Harajuku and maybe even to Nissan HQ in Ginza. Go at night so you can see the place lit up, it's something else. Getting to an Autobacs may be harder, I don't know of one in downtown Tokyo proper, there's a huge one in Chiba on the way to Narita though, there's also an old school auto sales place off the expressway too on the way to Narita but I don't know the name of it. If you were really hardcore you could try to figure out how to get to Top Secret of RE Amemiya's shops in Chiba. (JUN may be in Chiba too, I can't remember) Check the D1GP schedule or the Nostalgic Heros car show schedule to see if you're there when something is going on. A trip to Kyoto, Nagano, Nagoya or even Osaka on the Shinkansen is possible for a day long event.
  11. What kind of car is that?
  12. I'm surprised nobody's made a media circus out of it, the governator wants my 20mpg 30 yr old car off the road but his 15mpg hummer somehow meets standards?
  13. If it was truly in Mexico, they were probably thinking you guys really wanted to get back to the border. (That's very prosperous Mexico in the back, must be NAFTA?????)
  14. Here's another website with a fairly comprehensive collection of lists from EBay, Craigslist etc. http://jaxed.com/cgi-bin/ms.cgi?veh=datsun+240z&fil=&submit=go
  15. Best Motoring Wangan Battle http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kldVQ-cCfhE
  16. Don't know where you're at in Georgia but onuthin over at classiczcars.com probably has 8-12 S30s in various conditions he uses either for parts or to rebuild. He lives between Gray and Forsyth and he and his wife are really neat, nice people, he may be able to help you find a good project car.
  17. You might want to try to hook up with this guy, he's got an RB swapped S30 somewhere on the island. http://album.hybridz.org/showphoto.php?photo=15282&cat=627

I spent 3 years on Okinawa at Kadena, then 2-1/2 at Yokota...you military? How hard was it to find someone on Okinawa to help with the build?
  19. There are some asskickin' RB tuners on Okinawa, you might be able to get a great hookup! You go up to Nago at all to watch drag racing?
  20. Wasn't the story the Hybridz team was supposed to run a camaro that didn't show then they got thrown to run against a well prepared drag car?
  21. Try Motorsport or even amazon.com for do it yourself books, lots of surprising stuff on amazon.
  22. There's a guy near Seattle who sells alternators with internal voltage regulators for 240s...should be able to do a search and find him pretty easy.
