There were three high bidders though in excess of $1800-$2000 so there's some other folks out there seriously looking for one. I'm living in GA now and wouldn't mind seeing the car.
These things were $120 new out of the BSR catalog who knows how long ago. You probably could make a profit if you were able to recast them and sell them for $300-$500 apiece depending on how many you made.
It's economics, it's worth what someone is willing to pay for it. I was willing to pay alot, I may just give up and get a Kakimoto...guess I need the stroker piece to go along with it though.
I might have to exercise that option. Right now I want to go back to Western Montana and get away from the military but I may change my tune when my oldest gets out of HS. If I did stay in DOD I would want to get back into Missile Defense. I spent 2 years in Japan working on MD with the Japanese and space/missile technology proliferation is the future.
There's an old article on the BRE 240Z in a book called "The 240 & 260Z Gold portfolio" published by Brooklands books. It talks about some of the details that went into making the car and it may still be available through MSA.
Of all things you can buy I go nuts shopping for handwoven silk rugs too. I bought a beautiful handwoven Persian silk rug for 1/3rd of what it would have run me in the states and have bought a couple of nice machine made wool rugs for the house for about half of what they cost here.
There was a Wangan Midnight movie released that I saw awhile back on the Internet. No subtitles and kinda boring...am hoping the new release anime will be better.
I'll vouch for Dave's harnesses too. Took about 20 minutes to put in the headlight harness with no splicing and a noticable improvement in the strength of my headlights. Put me back in the day/night street fighter category.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone, it's great to be able to spend it with the family.
I'll probably re-watch the PINKS episode today too, it's on from 1300-1330 EST.
I'm putting a new CLSD from the group buy into a donor R200. What else should I look at replacing while the diff is out of the car and apart? Is it customary to media blast and powdercoat the diff?
