It sucks seeing it this way.. as soon as i walked out in my yard and saw my son sitting on the trailor with his feet inside the car i knew I have no choice but to rebuild it.. he has been wanting this car for his first car for the last 4 years. guess i have 2 years to get it back together..lol the scary part is i can't stop looking for it when i am driving around still and i know it is already in my yard..

no they didnt get the loser yet . and it was one of the losers i had found over 9 months ago and they let free then.. but on the good note we got into the garage and found my motor and trans burried under everything he could steal from anyone.. missing carb and fuel pump nos system and my msd..and inside car totally stripped.. but they did seized the home cuz it was in his name ..

Found my 240 in a hole in a yard 2 blocks from where i was car jacked..

Update on the jakced 240.. Tuesday evening the car was seen driving in Victorville ca. this time the driver was seen and his name is Tony a mexican tweaker in the area.. soem calls were made and he is trying to sell the car for 100 bucks to anyone .. this has to be the dumbest car theif alive .. hopefuly i will get my car back today or soon .. he will be found

Well the cop had told me when he showed up that this town is turning to ♥♥♥♥ so fast he is moving away .. the sad part is most of us here live in 500,000 dollar homes or more and no one can affoed to buy them so we can't move any place .. this was about 10 miles from my home right off the 15 freeway in victorville ca.. I am hoping one of my cop friends here in town get to catch them if they are still driving it .. they are racers like i am and will not be all that nice .. oops tazer went off...

Well this is the 5th time someone has tried to take my stuff at gunpoint over the years.. and the only one to get it .. this was one tweaker looking person and as calm as can be with the hammer back on a revolver and i could see the bullets in the other holes.. so he can have my car.. I have 6 kids and a grandchild that are more important than my car.. but the bad news for the ones that stole it is this is a small place and my car is so well known up here with anyone and everyone .. I have had over 100 calls from people local that are actually out looking for it . what sucks is it has a brand new set of drag radials and a full tank of 110.. and a filled NOS. bottle i hope they try to inhale that ♥♥♥♥ and die

Friday night here in the high desert in ca. my 1970 240z copper in color was stolen at gunpoint .. I was coming out of a fast food drive thru and as i pulled out a van blocked me in and the driver stuck a gun in my face adn his passenger got out and took my car... My z has a zz383 crate motor and a 700r4 with 2 mufflers welded side by side in the stock muffler spot and a 4 1/2 cowl induction hood there is a picture of in in my signature

Ok .. Spo when i first did my 383 i wanted a 160 thermostat .. thinking it would run there.. but no car was running about 190... i moved my temp guage to the rear of the intake and car is now showing 150.. thats your larger hole in the gasket at work.. .. so some old man told me .. and i mean old as in way older and wiser than me in the way of knowing alot more than i do about anything ...lol said the car can not maintain a 160 thermostat .. the water leaves the radiator to soon and can not cool down i moved to a 180 and the car sits right there all day long .. and i live in the desert where i am way over 110 outside sitting in traffic .. i have the stock radiator from a 70 240z in my z the 2 row .. i do also have a large hood scoop facing forward but that is why when on the freeway car drops to about 150 on the guage .. and i also am oly running 3.55 gears and a 700r4 tranny .. bye the way the tranny cooler is mounter under the hood above and to the front of the radiator .. kinda strange but works verry well ..

Thanks for the reply the car is very clean inside is almost perfect other than a couple seams in the driver seat .. and it runs perfect .. just one carb leaks a little fuel .. i am trying to get some pics of it .. i guess i should go buy it and if i don't really want it i can always just sell it

A friend of mine just told me he is selling his 260z and gave me a price i can have it for .. it is so clean and stock .. but it is an auto .. even has ac on it i have no clue what it is really worth or if he is letting me have a great deal if i want the car .. he said 1300 bucks i can have it .. if i had pics i would post them any feed back on a price would be great ..

You want the distibutor line hooked to the one that has no vacuum once you open the throttle wide open .. it should have good vacuum at idle and with a guage hooked on it hit the throttle and see if the vacuum guage goes to zero if so then hook it to that one ..

I had this same thing that took me over 4 weeks to track down .. i had the drive shaft balanced... new u joints all around i had replaced both half shafts and still had this bad vibration .. i got new rear tires put on and it looked funny .. so i swapped them to the front and the vibration went away .. but the steering wheel was real bad shaking now .. so it turned out to be i had a dent in one of my brand new wheels from motorsport z.... 10 weights later it is gone .. wow that was alot of typing to just say check the rear wheels and have them ballanced .. even if they already have been you might have lost a weight or hit something ....

Ok the u joints ya are using are garbage .. I didn't make it down the street with them broke one on a launch in the street with drag radials at 2000 rpm .. go to carquest and get the car quest gold ones they are non greasable and i have so far over 30 passes at the track with them and no prob...... as for your carb .. weather ya love it or not it is junk ... throw it away and get an updated newer carb .. there are many reasons they make new things .. mainly cuz the old ones are outdated and don't perform well

Wow!! that was alot to read ..lol good post... i think..... and hey i have an automatic with a 383 nice power and get about 24 mpg on highway .... And now city ..depends .. like was mentioned earlier .. how ya drive it .... if i take it slow i have done that for a full tank and been around 17 to 19 city .Normal driving .. as in getting on it here and there to stomp the mustang or vett here and there i see about 12 to 14 .. When i am running on the street with the 700r4 ..354 gears and a 215/70/14 rear tire and 205/60/14 up front skinny tires and about 38 for the pressure .. and i don't daily drive this thing but i could if it was not over 100 out here and i had ac......

Well nice test .. glad to see someone did something like that .. to bad i already have one ..lol but hey at least mine came in 2nd ..lol but i do have datalogging as they state it does not ...but i just wired mine into the computer and it picks it up in the lap top with anything else i monitor .. but still cool test .. and the only real way to know what way to go on tuning your car.....

You don't wanna try a welded diff on a road .... they do no tlike turning ..lol mine i swelded and as long as you let off the gas it will turn but any gas at all with a sticky tire pushes the front .. it works great on the drag strip .. you will also get a real annoying vibration with the welded diff unless you have the carrier balanced after it is welded.. and mine is welded and it is only fun to drive in a straight line .. well that and the rain ..lol

Just a good tire will not make the car hook .. you also need the right suspension as well... a good tire will help alot over a street tire.. as for drag radials nothing beats the mickey thompson drag radials .. we run low 8 sec passes on them ... the et drag slicks with low pressure float around at top speed .. kinda stinks .. the drag radials do not and you can enjoy them on the street .. but no 14 inch rim sizes.. the only drag radial for the 14 inch rim is bfg drag radial in a 215/60/14 or a 225/60/14 they work well but not as good on life of tread...

If your worried about minimum wage ya should not be on this site .. ya should be on a site for the Prius and in school ..so ya don't give a ♥♥♥♥ what minimum anything is ... Get a real Job that comes from an Education..

Ya know my 84 300zx did this same thing and it turned out to be the throttle position censor...

If it is something your interested in then it is a good deal .. When i got mine it was a half done project ... motor was in with tranny and the wires were hooked up so it would start .. no radiator . linkage or driveshaft ... and a junk motor from the junk yard.... $12000 later it still isn't painted

I just have an aftermarket tach.. and it went right in the stock spot.. i think it is a 3 inch .. not sure on that but it fits and looks fine

Ok there are more than 3 sizes of power valves.. the way ya wanna chose the right one is get yourself a vacuum guage to hook on the carb and at idle in gear check the vacuum.. then get a powervalve about 3 in lbs lower than the vacuum ya show at idle in gear.. so if ya show 8in at idle then get a 5 the number on the powervalve is the point it opens due to vacuum...
