Has any body here done this swap? I'm not very familiar with fords but was bench racing with some buds this weekend and we just happened to find a nice 510 at a very good price in the local boneyard. the front suspension looked very similar to the z so if a 5.0 fits a z why not a 510? thanks for any help Keith

Hey sop what's on your agenda for this sunday? I'll be at a chassis shop in lawrence to check on my 240Z I may be bringing my friend's 77 280Z 3.1L turbo Beast. You commented on his kill under the I'm Telling You forum. It would be cool to hook-up with another Hybrider in mass. E-Mail if your interested rx7260z@yahoo.com

The reason I ask is I've got a very nice set of 14" slots that for some reason I can't bear to part with. Nostalgia I guess. But if they must go well then go they will. Do you carry wheel studs I need a set for my 73 and my friend's 77 How much and where do I send the check? -

The only problems I've run into with quality aftermarket ing parts was when "sombody" forgot to apply the heat transfer paste to the 7 pin modual and it burnt out after about 8 runs on a test and tune night -

Ok so if I go for the "lesser" of the front brake kits what is the smallest rim dia. I can run? what about backspacing? can I use a set of billet wheel spacers with them? Also does any body have any info om the cryogenic treatment of the rear stub axles? -

SCCA is that $500 for the brackets and calipers? Thats still not a bad price considering all of what you get plus the added WOW factor. Keith -

Also during my search I found a thread about using outlaw calipers with the maxima bracket? Is this true? If so at what cost? I also have a question about a parking brake,I seem to remember seeing a hydralic brake at a street rod company does this sound familiar to any one? -

Ok let me see if I have this right. The mystical Maxima bracket and a 88-94 240sx rear caliper and hangers and z-31 300zx rear 11 3/8" 4 lug rotors will work? is this the system on Scottie's GNZ? also will this clear the CV adapter's that are kicking around right now?? As for the master cyl I will need a 15/16" unit from a 81 280zx now what about the booster (Master Vac) I have a CNC operater who owes me more than a few favors my question is can the Bracket be made from Al? If so what type? Or must it be steel? and about the stubs would cyrogenic treatment help relieve the stress risers? May be one of the engeneers we seem to have floating about can answer the last two questions. thank all of you for your help. Keith -

Mike thanks for the drum answer I may switch over later but most of this cars life will be on the drag strip, I just can't justify the cost of rear disks when there are so many go fast parts I still need. Keith -

I've moved on to the rear portion of the Z and have a few questions. First my long term plans for this car include a set off big(not huge)calipers and rotors up front and probaly retain the drums out back. Now what I need to know is what should I use for a Master Vac and master cylinder? Second the rear set-up now is from a 1973 240Z is there a better year brake set up to use? I'm not sure what the differences are from year to yearI have a few rear suspensions here to pick parts from. And lastly should I use the aluminum drums or the steel ones from a 510?

I just replaced the fuel pump in my friends chevy (the Holley Blue died) with a Summit brand pump Part number sum-g3134 it is very quiet and only pulls 2 amps and feeds the 406 sbc just fine all the way to the big end of the track not a bad deal at $100 just my 2 cents worth -
If they are the same company I talked to some years ago out of springdale PA the rocker panels were deseigned to glue over the rusted out steel ones, I was not very keen on this idea as I could not convince myself that this would very strong torsionally my body man told me that z's used this area as a structural member. I'm not sure if this is true or not just relaying info as delivered to me I just bought mine in heavy guage steel from JCWitney. Keith
