  1. Nullbound thanks for the vote of confidence with the brute force joints I just re-did the whole drive line with them on a recomendation from some friendly rockcrawlers that use them on some 600+ftlb bbc's Keith
  2. Hey BLK stop by your local Mercedes Benz dealer and pick up 4 air filter housing isolaters for a 123 body with a v-8 I'll try to get you the part number on monday. These are about 3/4" long about 5/8" wide with 1/2" studs out both ends 6mmx1 threads. These are also used on Rolls-Royce fuel pump and are made of metalastic (a rubber composite used for sound deadening) I have my MSD's,fuel pump,ICE amplifiers etc mouted with these they work great and are about $2-3 each. Keith
  3. antivnm=Death to vipers Ieat50s=Been done zipnbyu=this was my 350 s-10 botlfed=on a N20 honda rx4yor7=my rx-7's plate (very modded) snakbit=wife wants a Cobra replicar Keith
  4. I'm not knocking them on quality they are good it is just B@m's are better just follow the destruckions and you will be fine. I talked to a few of the other builders at work (I build trans. for AAMCO)and they have no problem with the hayden plumbed in AFTER the rad. Keith
  5. Are you talking about the pan summit says will not fit? Part number sum-G3502.I bought one cheap at a swap meet and guess what it works just fine!! I'm using it with a stock 400 CID crank 5.75" rods. I don't know why they say it won't maybe mine was built wrong?? Keith
  6. That is true on b&m very high quality(that is praise not sarcasm) stacked plate coolers but I was under the impression this was a hayden tube and fin Cooler Keith
  7. The floe should run from the bottom fitting on the case to the cooler (try to use the lower fitting on the cooler) then out of the cooler and back to the unit. If you are not useing the cooler in the rad. you need to use a LPD style cooler. These have a Low Psi Drop valve in them to slow the fluid down for better heat transfer. If your using the rad and an external cooler do not run a LPD style, just run the hot oil through the rad then the cooler. You should also add an external filter with a magnet in it. This should go between the unit and your first cooling device. On a side note an oil temp gauge you want to install after your last cooling device. Keith
  8. That Trans mount is way cool!! Does any body want to buy a Jtr one?? POR-15 coated and everything!! Keith
  9. Dear Administrators, Sorry about last post. Needed to vent Just can't stand it when someone asks a question and won't listen to the answer. Keith
  10. Hey dumb ass Do me a favor put a 305 crank in a 350 block add some 327 pistons on a set of 400 rods with a set of 283 heads and rev your self stupid it should last about 2.3 nanosec. Keith
  11. Why don't you just pop into your local tranny shop We just give thing like that away. I work at an AAmco in Boston.Keith
  12. I have a very compleate set of drawings on a rotisserie that is in use at a local restoration shop If some will post them I will mail them out They work VERY good will hold an entire car minus eng and trans. Please E-mail me at adress below Keith
  13. Stay away from the pre 83 units(700r4) they are way weak and have a 27 spline torque converter. the later ones are 30 spline and cheaper. You will also need one from behind a v-8 not a 4.3l 90 degree v-6 they look the same but are very different. I would also get a ATSG manual any trannyshop will get you one also a good video is made by technical video 16325 E. Lincoln Dr. Fall Creek WI 54742-4813 1-888-785-2604 Keith
  14. Has any body used the brute force brand of solid U-joints? I just loaded my diff with them about 3-weeks ago on a very strong recomendation from the 4x4 crowd they use them in their monster ORV's ( some making 600+ lb/ft )Keith

    FORD C4

Can somebody translate that for me?
  16. You might want to cut out one side repair it then do the other side when I was in tech school a guy had a rusty 66 mudstain up on stands to repair the rockers. He cut out both sides and both rockers inner and outer. needless to say he ruined a decent chassis. It folded like a napkin. But the world is a better place now one less rustang to get in my way. Keith
  17. Has anybody here used simichrome? It is a powdercoat color I have a set of old school slots that I'm going to run until the brakes are upgraded. but they are in need of polishing I could convice the wife that buying an Eastwood powdercoater would be cheaper than paying to get the wheels plated!! Hey I might be on to something here. Keith
  18. The unit that Summit sells under ther own brand is made by Triangle Enginering these are also sold by Chris Alston of Chassisworks. They are avery good unit My chassis builder has had one in his pro-streeter for about nine years now and still looks great and is working fine. He is currantly puting the 22 gal unit in my 240z. Keith
  19. Sounds like summit will be writing that $25k check this year god i would like to see that.
  20. That depends on want you wan't the shop to do? Turn key or just set in the motor and trans. The local custom shop and car crafters near me charge $90-$145 per hour not flat rate per houre worked The best bet is a crate motor a decent 350 from GM can cost as little as$1200 for a 300hp setup that only needs a dizzy, carb and headers. It even comes with a warrenty the local wrecker can only offer you a old (carbs havent been around for quite some time) motor with no history and a 30 second 30 feet what ever comes first garantee. Keith
  21. I would use the lokar cable it looks great and I've known of several that have been in daily use for over a decade with out a failure Keith
  22. Should work out fine. Let me know if you need help locating the caprice tailhousing Keith
  23. Did you change your harness to the painless or is it oe? If oe you might have voltage but your amps might not be able to push through 20 some years of copper rot. My 70 Jaguar E-Type used to do this to me on a regular basis DAMNED LUCAS!!!Keith
