Went to the track yesterday
jnjdragracing replied to jnjdragracing's topic in Gen I & II Chevy V8 Tech Board
When we talked on the phone I told you I was using two strut cushions per side, which came to 4 7/8" height, so I made a set of aluminum spacers. So there is no travel down, and I put limiters on the rebound too. That was the changes to the rearend. I talked to my Dyno guy ( Chris Tuten ) and he said it could have been fatigued over 7 hard years of use. -

Went to the track yesterday

Thanks for your reply, I tried Drag radials 5 years ago but could not make it work with the blower motor, but I only tried them one test session. I was leaving on 3 pounds of boost not sure of the torque . The motor made 843 to 847 @ 20 pounds of boost at the rear tires. I took all the travel out of the rear. With the rear with 1.5 travel and slicks I leave on 7.5 boost @ 3800 rpm, car ran a 5.57@ 130 in the 1/8th with a 1.38 60'. -
I just finished making some changes to the rear suspension, and add 275 MT Drag radial pros to the mix. i did the burn out and staged the car. I put the transbreak on brought the rpm's up let the TB go and the car moved one foot. I broke both 300zxt CV axles. I have had these axles in the car for 7 long years without any failure. I am changing them out today with my spare set. Does anybody know are used any after market (Performance) CV axles companys?

jnjdragracing replied to jnjdragracing's topic in Motorsports / Events
Lets get the word out, I will try pming everybody that I know of and see if we can make this happen. Please do the same. I can try to organize something once I get a head count I can call the motels and see about lodging and maybe a special rate and can also contact the SilverDollar track and let them know that Members of Hybrid Z will be attending the import shoot out. Import Shootout at Silverdollar raceway
jnjdragracing replied to jnjdragracing's topic in Motorsports / Events
I would like to shoot for the October 19th in order to give plenty of time for more people from Hybrid to show. I hope we get a lot of interest. -
Hello to all, my brother Jerry and I were talking over the weekend while we were at the drag strip about the SEZ and DNI shootouts we used have and how we missed the event and seeing all of the HybirdZ members. It was great fun and met a lot of nice people. The events we attended for SEZ and DNI were done at Silverdollar Raceway in Reynolds Ga. This seemed to be a centralized location for all the people to meet. We stayed at motels not far from the track and had like a big car show / gathering the day / night before and then we all went to the drag strip. I noticed SilverDollar is having a Import shootout on May 19th and also October 19th. Was wondering how many members / people would like to all get together again. Of course no track rentals, we will just be part of the import shootout and do some racing / meeting everybody again. If members Scottie, Warren and Wigenout are still around maybe they can step up and get something organized again. If not then if enough interest in shown we can paln to do this. I know May 19th is really to soon but October 19th is not. Everybody please chime in and give us your thoughts. Y0u do not have to have a race car or even a Datsun / Nissian to join in. I know Wayne sold his Z and now has a turbo camaro, it would just be great to do something like before. John

Went to the Track (video)
jnjdragracing replied to jnjdragracing's topic in Gen I & II Chevy V8 Tech Board
well in the video link I posted I did not use the bump box. I just turned on the prestage and staged bulbs grabed the trans break ,and did not leave until it went against the two step (3800rpm) than let it go. I was not happy with how I pulled into the beams, so that is why I backed up and brought it back in. Thanks Jerry -
We went to the track this weekend to race in a stock (production) block race, only had two cars show in this class. So they put us into a class with a bunch of fast cars. Here is one video of my last pass. I put myself out of the eliminations early because I fogot to turn on the boost controler.there are more videos on our youtube channel.( jnjdragracing ) The R200 is still hanging tuff. We were also trying out a BumpBox,that is why inthe other videos of this race the car hoops or bumps the second stage light on . video link

We will be testing the car on the 20th at Darlington Dragstrip and then race at Fayetteville on the 23rd. I feel quite sure we will be the only Datsun there but we will have a great time. Jerry

In my intercooler(ice) tank, it is a rule 3700 billage pump. Here is a picture of the tank. The tank feeds the air to water intercooler, then goes to the trans cooler, than to the engine, then back to the tank.I can make a 1/4 mile pass drive it back to the pits and the temp will only be 140 degrees. -

Great numbers, how much boost are you running? What size drag radials are you running and the air pressure? I have been thinking of trying a set of M/T drag radials on our car, looking at 275/60/15 or the 255/60/15.We have not posted any new videos in a while. We went to the track on 12/08/12 made three passes John should be getting the last pass up loaded soon.
